Radio and TV Coverage

Postby Dan The Man » Sun Apr 29, 2007 3:58 pm

Is there any reason why that when there are 3 games on,that we have 3 media outlets and only 2 games being broadcasted ? Surely all 3 games could be broadcasted? I can't see the point of radio and TV broadcasting the same game and leaving another game with no coverage at all. :?: :?: :?:

very good point that.
It was raised in this household why not play a game on the eve of ANZAC Day as well as one on the day .

It doesn't happen because it's common sense.

Also very poor score updates Saturday from Unley from both RPH & Life FM. Life gave about 2 scores in the first half, promised a half time cross that never happened but at least they became more regular as the game went on. I gave up on RPH after getting countless AFL updates without a score from Unley.

What really annoys me is that an SANFL game will be in progress and 5AAfl will be doing their pregame for the Cows or the Smears and refuse point blank to do any cross overs for score updates.

is there any possibility of the ABC covering an of the Sunday games?
they were able to make an exception for ANZAC day.

Hi everyone,

While it is unfortunate that some games are not being broadcast, Pine Lodge Studios produce DVD's of all SANFL matches for sale to the public. All games that are broadcast/televised, will feature the commentary of the relevant station. For any games that are not broadcast, myself and Damian Woodards (joined on occasions by John Nankivell) call the matches live at the ground.
If you wish to purchase a copy of any match, ring Charles on 8271 1669 to organise. He will advise prices etc and pick up points.

Cheers

Also check with your clubs first as Charles is keen for people to order through their clubs that he has set up liaisons with.

Caught up with Damian last night pre-game (an old School mate). He is a very funny man and would be a very good mainstream radio commentator, no good for TV though as he has a head like a robbers dog!

I'll be sure to mention that to him next time I see him, BPBRB

Just to let Glenelg and Eagles fans know, you can buy a DVD of today's game from Charles (try ringing him first - I saw your note on there, Wedgie, but Charles is the best point of call first) at Pine Lodge Studios. All SANFL games this season are available for purchase just a few days after the game, and they are $20 each.

As per the normal procedure for any games not covered on mainstream media, there is an "in house" call by Damian Woodards and myself. Next week's Central v Port blockbuster on Saturday night will also feature a call from John Nankivell and myself (there is also the "sound off" option on the DVD though), so if you aren't able to get out to what will be a massive match, ring Charles to order your copy of this one.
