As a life long Eagles member i would like to wish Jon Floreani all the best with his departure from the club. For a person that ron treated like crap he stayed with the club and serviced the club well. It is a sad day when another Eagles stallward leaves the club not on his terms. Its funny how what the Eagles are missing a small midfielder willing to put his head over the ball and be on bottom of packs someone like Jon!!!!!

Yes, wising Jon all the best with his future. I have not checked but I have a feeling it may be into retirement rather than another club. Jon had been named in the best players in the Ressies at least once this year and had a fair bit more to offer. Having had a bit to do with Jon, his dad (former Eagles captain Aldo) and the rest of the Floreani's over the years, I can say that you will not meet many finer families than the Floreani's. Disappointing that Jon was not given as many opportunities this year or last as he deserved. Can't really say too much against the Eagles over it though - they did win the flag last year.

If this is the case, well done on a great career. Over 100 league games, he got everything out of himself that he could. Best attributes were his unquestionable courage for every contest and most significant was his football brain, which made up for the lack of height, weight and pace of a typical modern footballer.

here here BP. I was lucky enough to attend his wedding all the way in Fiji in 2005. Spent 11 days with Aldo, Erica and the rest of the Floreani mob. top family.

I'm not an eagles man but it was players like him i felt for last year when they won the flag. Unlucky to not be in that side.

Yes Jon was a great stalwart of the club....but his time has come and to move on.....and that is the great thing about this club.....it pushes the youngsters through and there are some good ones coming......that is why we have been so successful.....hard decisions need to be made at any club in order to get the holy grail....

Yeah, he seemed to be close to selection but never was looking like being picked (not even an emergency!)

Well done on a fine career anyway, a good contributor to the reason why we have been up near the top of the ladder over the last 8 seasons.

He put his body over the ball, but lets not get carried away here his days were numbered and clearly he new that! Hall should take a leave out and go out gracefully!

Gutsy Player , always put his body in.
For his size, there are a lot of players that could learn from his courage.
I remember a few years ago when he backed into a contest , faceing the oncoming traffic ( if that makes sense), any player would have had a right too pull out because it was only going to go one way. Not John , spoiled the contest and came out with a broken cheekbone , true courage , true club man.
