In summary, radio coverage this weekend.

Saturday
Eagles v Sturt (Woodville) - RPH
West Adelaide v Norwood (Broadspectrum) - LifeFM

Sunday
South Adelaide v Glenelg (Hickinbotham) - RPH

Meanwhile, out in the northern suburbs.....

....The CDFC promoting Saturday night's Central District vs Port Adelaide game through newspapers, billboards and roadside signs.....pushing for a 10,000+ crowd at Hamra Homes Oval, Elizabeth.....top vesus second, chasing their 6th and 5th wins respectively....

Radio coverage over Adelaide? Not a buttered cracker.

On the flip side, barring impairment, there is only one way lovers of Aussie Rules footy in this town will get to experience the night and thats to be there.

port vs centrals at elizabeth underlights....

good luck ;)

nah, really, I think it will be a great game, possibly even a prelude to the big one later in the year but i fear some people wont want to go as now its twice as likely something is going to happen off the field, sad but unfortunately true. No way both sets of the idiot supporter group (the small few on either side) will keep their noses clean. You can almost hear them rubbing their hands together at this one.

I really hope its a great game and I would love to be there and I hope they get to their target, but they will need some luck :)

Central vs North was covered last year, but I reakon this time they might think that having it on radio would hold a few people back from going there.

Trying to get that 10,000 - if the weather holds.

And the State game was a night game. That had TV coverage.

1000-maybe 2000? Dont think so.I dont know of any of my group going up.

Serious question. How many Port supporters would make the trek if Magpies were on fire at the moment and the Power were not?

Not saying the Magpies haven't been going well this year, but they are yet to set the world alight as their more colourful cousin has in the AFL.

I'd luv to see this game ... From a SANFL purists point of view it should be a belter with both clubs priding themselves on similarly intense and agressive styles of play.

If Central play as they did last week, I can't see them getting beaten, but with Port you can just never write them off.

I won't be able to make it. Uni field trip the whole weekend. If they only get 9999 then you all know who to blame. If there's no fight you'll also know who to blame.

Power play Sunday. This has nothing to do with the Power, alot to do with the surroundings that will be on offer Saturday night.

Fair enough on the last comment, but I was more referring to the 'swinging' Port supporters (some bad images conjuring up after typing that) who support the winningest Port team of the time.

Just curious Booney, I have a hypothetical question: If this was a night game at Alberton, how would you respond if someone typed that about Port Adelaide?

I would understand.I dont go to the Parade at night either.

I will say one thing,a night game at Alberton would not draw in 5000+ Port fans,as you will get at least that many at Elizabeth on Sat'night.

If I have upset you,Im sorry, but it is the way most of the people I know from Magpie games feel about this week.

You haven't upset me. I was just interested to see your response - as our clubs do, by reputation, tend to attract a similar sort of following (although neither likes to admit it).

Yes,yes we do.I think this is the reason the mutual respect is there.

I also think that the clubs/SANFL need to be aware of potential problems and not give people the opportunity,by opportunity I mean all day to get pissed, and just not have these games at night.

BTW,if you said you would not go to a game at Alberton at night I would understand.Totally.

Booney, if I was in town I would go.

And I find it funny that people say they won't go - just because of a 'reputation'.

Most of these incidents don't involve people who don't want to be involved. These incidents involve people who give and then get - generally.

If you don't want to be involved in a blue - go stand somewhere you know you shan't be involved.

Standing near the beer shacks on Cooper's Hill is not the place to stand if you don't want to be in a blue. As it may happen.

I was standing at the northern end on Friday night when the blue was on. Saw no problems.
And after the blue I was back standing at the foot of Cooper's Hill saw no problems.

But, I certainly wasn't going to stand right up amongst the throng with my wife, when my support for my club may prompt an OTT response.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

As someone who grew up in Elizabeth, I know that there were many Port supporters who live close to Elizabeth Oval and could get to Elizabeth games easier than Alberton ones. I think that these supporters will help swell the ranks on Saturday. And by the way I would go to Alberton Oval at night. There are a lot more scary places in the world than any SANFL oval you care to name
