i sat in the family area with little bayman & one of his school mates & mal, & i saw NO TROUBLE OR INCIDENTS tonight so i think while we are all quick to 'have a go' at disgraceful incidents & tonight it should be made aware that there was no trouble at all from where we were sitting & the crowd should be praised for doing the 'right thing'

well done to the crowd at elizabeth

Bayman- Port v Centrals, the violence was always going to cancel itself out really. Just like strapping buttered toast to a cats back- neither would hit the ground!

Good to hear.

For those of you that were there, was the larger security/police presence noticeable, and if it was, do you think it had an impact on crowd behavior, or was it wasted resources?

I'd be interested to hear peoples views.

I don't think there's ever been an incident at Elizabeth Oval when the Dogs have won that Ive heard of and its good to hear it continuing, well done all.

No idea mate, that would be purely hypothetical.
Also I should add on my original post I meant to type "I don't think there's ever been an incident at Elizabeth Oval on a Saturday night when the Dogs have won".

John Nankivell and myself were calling the game for the Pine Lodge DVD (which can be ordered for $20, including postage, from Pine Lodge Studios - excuse the plug  ), and both noted the absolute, total absence of any crowd trouble whatsoever. The crowd was in fantastic spirits throughout, and there wasn't a hint of anything at all. Not sure if this can be attributed to any increased security/police presence, but it was a very happy, family atmosphere throughout.

Thankyou!

=D> From StrayDog and family, a hearty thanks to yourself, mal and the youngsters for being part of it. :D We hope you all enjoyed your evening.

That sentiment extends to all that were there.

the lack of trouble must be why I had not heard any mention of the score on either ABC or 5AA news early this morning. Pity it seems only sensation (ie crowd misbehavior) makes the SANFL news-worthy.

Mrs Stray said that on one edition, the news on ABC "local" had announced the SANFL results without any AFL news this morning. Checked out the front window for snow.

Or when Wedgie wasn't there armed with his camera to gather evidence
