Biggest crowd this week- Alberton or Prospect?

It will be very interesting to see if North v Centrals at Prospect can draw a bigger attendance than Port v Norwood at Alberton with all sides giving their supporters some hope with recent form.

Is either of these games the ABC game of the week? If so that may be the deciding factor.

North v Centrals on the goggle box.

I think the Port/Norwood game will draw the larger crowd, although I have not checked if there is a clash with either a Crows or Power game this week, they would be two of the most affected clubs if this were the case.

I don't think the Magpies ever clash for Port Power. The Crows are Saturday arvo this week though.

OK thanks for that Marty, gives the game at Prospect half a chance then.

Got a feeling with the Crows playing sat arvo that it will be the North Central game with the larger crowd and us legs fans will be outnumbered big time at Alberton.

Port vs Norwood in a canter!
I'd expect over 7,000 there, weather permitting.
I'd expect a lot less at Prossie, under 5,000.

Agreed, Norwood supporters have a reputation for not travelling out there.

Incorrect, every clubs supporters have a reputation for not travelling out there when in direct competition to a live crows game. Except Port supporters.
However, if Norwood were near the top of the ladder then the Port v Norwood clash will get a bigger crowd. I call it the bandwagon factor.

North and Central will have a relatively high bandwagon factor due to their recent results on the field.

Recently North supporters have been rumoured to outnumber the Magpies fans at Alberton. But aside from that obvious example I didn't click that it was the clash with the Crows that you were referring to as the reason for your statement. Either way, I have heard from other fans that Norwood supporters don't like to travel too far from the Parade, so as that is Norwood's reputation so far as I know of it. I'll stand corrected on that if you can prove otherwise of course.

Well agree to disagree. Whenever I venture to Alberton theres a pretty strong Norwood contigient there. The only ones that can have an opinion on this is the Port fans, as I dont think you have been to many Port v Norwood games at alberton ;). I very much doubt Port fans ever get outnumbered at Alberton either. Its easy to think otherwise if you are on the outer as I find most Port fans are either behind the goals or on the grandstand side.

Prospect will draw the bigger crowd. You've got probably the 2 clubs with the biggest supporter bases in the league.

Cheers HBT. I go along with almost all of that.

Oh give me a break ! North and Centrals biggerst supporter base...took me ten minutes to stop laughing.
Norwood and Port have....always have had....and always will have....the biggest supporter base.
Norwood also have more members than any club.

Are you referring to the slang term members there SDK? I am certain you are not referring to club members. Perhaps you are right on the supporter base comments, but it is too difficult to judge without adding it to the census questionnaire!

My prediction..

Prospect 3,150
Alberton 3,550

I would love to have seen these 2 matches programmed in the same round without going against either the Crows or Power & without ABC coverage. It would have been fascinating to see who could draw the bigger crowd based on the old traditional rivalry as opposed to a more modern day rivalry.

As it is I fear that a few fair weather Dogs & Rooster supporters will be tempted to stay at home and keep an eye on both games on TV.

So how do you reconcile this with game attendance figures?

Looks like I got these the wrong way round & was a couple of hundred short on both. Magnificent effort from Roosters and Dogs supporters to get 3700 against live ABC coverage of the game & against live coverage of Crows game.
