Why would they drop him ?
Clever fella that Williams.
Not that I would watch a Port Pirie Power match....unless they were playing the Crows or Melbourne.

Because hes out of his depth at AFL level, and will probably struggle with the Bay's once he goes back there. Has been playing AFL footy level this year so far presumably for his perceived leadership abilitites. As a Port supporter, i wouldn't have given him a game earlier in the year when he resumed from injury, and i'm certainly glad hes been dropped for this week.

He's not named for Westies, but Hinge is.

Im surprised at that, I'd always thought he displayed plenty of good qualities for Port ... I wouldn't see the Power play as often as you though GWW so I'm not disagreeing

Agree with GWW, his form has well adn truly dropped off, needs to reapture his form in SANFL... shouldnt be holding up the promotion of a youngster.. IMO

Usually an afl listed player plays for bottom reserves team if his aligned club has the bye AND is requiring match fitness after returning from injury. So would expect Mahoney to sit out this round.

just gotta kick 7 goals (maybe 10 in the ressies) in the SANFL and he'll be back in the port power side

With the outstanding form of Brett Ebert, the emergence of Nathan Karkouer, the impressive form of David Rodan, there really is no room for Mahoney in the side.
The above three are all small forwards and can all go into the midfield for a burst.I think (Wayne) Mahoney will have to perform out of his skin to get back into the side.

Coz apart from the Collingwood and St. Kilda games (both in wet conditions) he has played like crap. I've been wanting him omitted for a few weeks because he has not played good enough to keep his spot, while guys like Robbie Gray are tearing it up in the SANFL.

You Westies guys must have a huge soft spot for Port (Power) after 2 of their players playing such a big part in your season so far

If you took a percentage of the crows' wins based on the number of West players in the team for each win, would you have more wins altogether than West got in the SANFL?

He has been one of the best goalscorers and attacking players over several seasons, but has been in and out of favour - perhaps he won't wash his coach's car either!

Much respect for how he turned his career around. Has had 3 good years at the Power. This year, he looks to be probably the slowest non KPP player in the league. Will be a wet weather specialist when his superior footy nous comes to the fore, but in the dry and with the pace of the AFL game at the moment he looks to be left wanting. He'll play again.
