memo to 5 RPH / LIFE FM - live footy broadcasts on weekends

Postby thunders » Sat May 26, 2007 2:55 am

lets hope yure stations can at last supply transmission of as , advertised footy on the weekends

- us interstate/overseas travellers luv to here the footy as promised on-line on the internet / but just when the footy begins you 'bomb out' - yet prior to broadcast everything seems fine ,

you probably dont realise how bid a following there is in local footy around the country/world !

come on fellas , we should have the technology these days to accomadate this - its been so frustrating not being able to here the footy here in the USA for the last few weeks

cheers

Seconded.

And rph, please commentate on the game a bit too. All chat and ads. (Clash clangers indeed  )

And whilst you are at it, can you all learn some of the players names. That would be a big help to the listeners.

Oh.... and as the Roosters are not on this week, can you please do a few more "round the grounds" round ups.

Oh.. Ohh... and finally, do you think you could please watch the game you are doing the commentary on, only when I read the match reports and threads on here, it always seems like I wasa listening to a different match.

Thank you very much for your co-operation. I love you all

No worries mate, just to add that they'll be getting scores from me for the first half but using ABC TV for the 2nd half as the ABC is delayed in the first half but catches up at half time.

Might come in very handy if the on line scoreboard isn't working.

They keep saying so but very rarely actually get round to it.

goes kinda like this:

We'll have a quick break to our sponsors then we will get off around the grounds

Queue ad break of some sort

Queue back to the footy

and........ wait for it....................wait for it................. wait for it

Nothing

The rph boys do need to brush up on the players name/numbers though. Last week south/bays was pretty average. They had thewlis and Mcgrath mixed up all day, and were mistaking Archard for Parry at times. Bit of a height difference.

And they have more plugs for sponsers that 5aa, that that is saying something.

Still good to have them covering the quantity of footy they do though :)

It is great that we can even hope to listen to a footy broadcast from halfway around the world these days. So I am very grateful for that. But it has been breaking down recently during games, or becomes a bit waspish, you hear the commentator getting excited, the crowd goes up, there's a run on and if the Blues score from this foray they go within one kick and... out come the wasps. Is it possible that the extra listeners are causing the ... whasit (cable?) to overload?
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

I couldn't get RPH "Server not responding" - I think they just don't have the server capacity for the number of people who wan to log in.

Perhaps we could all donate them an old machine and they could build a server farm - if they know how!
[The station probably runs on one home standard modem and one old 486 server.]

Good point theri. Maybe i am being over critical and expect too much. Missed the Roosters on the radio today. Wanted to tune into the Port v Legs game but RPH was down so listened to the Surt v Westies game on LifeFM.

Plenty of round the grounds reports today, and not just the Cows match. Sounded like it was a cracking game and a great come back by the DB's. I had Westies in the tipping comp so at one time I though I would have a 4 up week.

Geez, there have been some good games this season.
