A New Record After Round 8??

Over to you spelly but I'd be suprised if you'd find another year when the 2nd side has lost half of their games after 8 rounds?
My guess it would only happen this year as a quirk of the ridiculous SANFL draw for 2007?

Even weirder is the side who is 4th has only lost to one club! :?

That would be because Port has played 13 matches more than everyone else. They now have the bye for the next 15 weeks ;)

There have been a few times where 2nd have been 4 and 3 after 8 rounds, 1994 for instance, but none on 4 and 4.

1909 is another time where 2nd has been on 4 and 3 after 8 rounds.

This is after 5 rounds in a particular season, but you'd be hard pressed to see a more even ladder than this:

Round 5 1987

Nothing that Excel (and Eckys' Access) can't handle! :)

Should wait til the round is finished. If the Eagles win today by a healthy margin then they can go second.

Has a team ever been so clear on top after so few rounds? The ladder this year is staggering, but that one you just put up is incredibly bizarre spelly.

This has to be some kind of record...

Struth, with a % of 240 they may as well be...

So there still has only been 4 wins 3 losses after 8 rounds, and not 4 and 4:

I think North only lost one more game for the '87 season after that? Spelly?

So the dogs are only 2.5 wins ahead of North, christ this seasons fixture makes it hard to keep up...

Puts a whole new perspective on the two games against North - could go a long way to deciding positions later in the season.

Then there is East Perth Played 7, won 4, lost 4.

Spelly ... that's gold, son! 8)

Yes, unfortunately the WAFL is a case of Subiaco, Subiaco and Subiaco. It's just a matter of who should play them in the Grand Final (I know there is no such thing as a dead cert, but c'mon guys let's face it!). Claremont, maybe East Perth but unfortunately that about it ... my Sharkies have tailed off rather badly of late with a case of AFL Disease (where teams kick twice as many behinds as goals).

With 3.5 wins out of 6 games really Norf are second, then Eagles, Sturt and Port. I usually look at games lost as this is a better indicator of how teams are travelling.
