Some big games next week. Will be curtains for Glenelg and West if they lose IMO. Port vs North will be match of the round and Sturt vs South is a huge game for both sides as they may be fighting for the same spot in the 5 come seasons end.

The table is starting to take on a familiar look.

For what it is worth here is my summary:

Dogs and Eagles appear to be destined for a top 3 possie, after a slowish start the Eagles are starting to string wins together despite a number of quality players out.

The third possie I see as a race between Port and Norf. I know that Norf haven't lost to anyone but the doggies but they are yet to beat the Dogs, Eagles or Port this season partly due to strange programming.

I think that Sturt's postion at the moment belies where they are football-wise and they will find it hard to gain a top 3 possie. A definite chance for a top 5 possie though but they will be competing with South and Norwood. South will have to knock off a team above them soon or I will be writing them off.

The rest are in a "rebuilding phase". They'll have their moments and cause some problems for the top 5 sides but consistency is their main problem.

Yes, the draw has led us to a very decieving premiership table for this time of year. Sturt has 4 wins, but we have had very little exposure to top 5 teams so far this year. Meanwhile North has had a much harder draw. At this stage Centrals are the form side, and Eagles/North would be about the mark for 2nd. Eagles vs North will be a cracker when that one comes around. Port are just up and down, their form has been very good for the "Slaughter" comp'. I think the majority of punters to have been eliminated in that comp' did so as a result of tipping Port. I think Norwood possibly deserve a spot around 5th, they just had the misfortune of meeting Port when Tredrea was playing for them. South must be a very frustrating team to follow, and I think West are ready to bust out and begin slaying some middle of the road teams. (Sturt had some very lucky "ins" for the West game, whereas the Bloods had some unfortunate "outs". Again, the Blues' possie on the ladder is very deceptive IMO!) Glenelg need to hold it together from here. This is Mickan's moment of truth. Of course somebody has to be bottom, and this year everybody tipped Sturt to grace that position, Glenelg may be 1 win from 6 but I can't help thinking they should be better placed than they are.

There is a game between us and the state U18s (I think the u18 squad - our squad a mixture of league/reserves/returning from injury players)

great post trb!!!

I think we are playing well and have an advantage with this draw so far but we have made our own luck so we are doing the right things, just need to keep it up.

south and the dogs up next, splitting these games is crucial i reckon and i think we can win one of them atleast...maybe the dogs...maybe even both

My predictions for EOY:

- North will take Port's 3rd possie
- Port drop to 4th
- South, Sturt, Norwood will fight out for 5th
- West & Glenelg looking to 2008
