After the thumpings handed out to us last year, I'm confident we'll come out hard on Sunday. Given the weather, I reckon the majority of the crowd may be watching from behind their windscreens... Looking forward to a good game though...

This game has no coverage, if I feel alright on Sunday (and my new bloody car rocks up -EDD was yesterday) I might head down and do live scores for SAFooty.

I will pack myself a cut lunch and head down
should be a good game, hopefully the Double Blues can be competitive and then you never know
I am sure South will want to redeem themselves after a pitiful performance against the Eagles

You beauty! What a sensational idea! =D> Though I may not be around to benefit from your live updates, I always read the match thread from start to finish on db.org to get as close as I can to a replay, and the feeling of events as they unfold. I am a bit hesitant to do that on here as usually there will be a header saying "Well done (insert team name) what a fantastic victory!" and that tends to ruin the experience. But if it is raining here in Japan on Sunday, I may find myself at home and glued to the 'net.
Will you be taking your camera??? :D
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

I might take my camera but not sure how many if any shots I get.
As I can only use the normal phone keypad for data entry the posts will be pretty short and sharp score updates.
Might wander up to Chris K & co for scorers, etc at half time.
I want to get a full keyboard for my phone but they cost $200 and I cant justify it at this stage.

Not a bad time to get South in my opinion. I get the feeling all is not well down there and coupled with that they have lost a prolific ball winner in Kenna.

Rick suggested in the paper on Monday that we look our best when we 'give and run' and get the ball one out to Chambers, I agree with him. South are a very attacking side but can be vulnerable in defence so consequently, if our midfield get their fair share and the backs do their job I like our chances.

If the Baby Blues can get off to a good start, the confidence will be up and they will be hard to stop. I can't wait to get our Noarlunga record back on track.

Go Blues.

From what I've heard of South's performances over the last few weeks they're going to have a fair bit of trouble controlling the likes of Nelson, Sheedy, Crane and co. But...both teams seem to play games where they show patches of great play. Which team will be more consistent across the 4 quarters???I've been to four Sturt games this year and know that they can run quite hot and cold... If it's really wet, I'd go South...If only a few light showers then the Double Blues will get up...

South's recent record at Carlunga is surprisingly good. The Blues have their work cut out for them.

Strewth!! You are right Pseudo! I just checked the results for the year on sanfl.com.au. South have won every game they have played at Carlunga this year. It is deceiving because they got spanked by the Eagles out at Encounter Bay, which was their home game. If I remember rightly, they also won every game they played last year since they allowed cars around the oval, to cut it short, I think that South are undefeated in front of the cars at Noarlunga!
I know that is just a quirky stat and shouldn't mean anything, but I am sort of more worried about the game now. This is another level tester for us, as I reckon we are about the same mark as the Panthers but should be capable of taking home the points in this one.

Very nervous about this game. Make or break really this week.
No Kenna will hurt. Will need someone to hold down Chambers or he could get out of control.
I think if Sturt get it out of the centre, we are gone.
I am not confident with our forward line. Warren and co. have been pretty much not been seen at all this year.
I agree, Cambridge Clarrie, if wet i think we will pull it off. If not, Sturt should have a win. Dont think we have the fire power up forward to win. We also handball way to much (top handballers in the comp!) and see direct kicking will win on the day.
This game is very important and if a loss I think there will be big changes.
Hopefully not!
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

I see that carlile has been named in a squad of 25 for port. Even though i doubt we will lose him, if we do that will be a huge loss. I dont think we have anybody else that can be competitive on chambers.

agree with you southee. We will miss "pace" kenna and I am pretty sure parry may be doubtful as well.
Carlile has also been named in the squad for the power, methinks if he doesnt play we will really up against it because he was really the only player to win his position against the eagles. :(

While Sturts defense has been ok this year and was good last week, its still young and learning and missing some key players through injury (and returning injury)

I would have liked to see Brooks come in in a key post down back but obvisouly Rick sees something in the lads named in the team for this week.

big game and go you blues!
