SANFL grounds according to Dale Clarke (Messenger Newspapers

I couldn't be bothered typing the whole article, but here's the short version, cant say I agree with much of it (do agree with some though).

1. Norwood "the elevated stand on the wing gives a great vantage point of the whole field, making the footy easy to follow."
2. Glenelg "the footy is easy to follow, mainly because the Bay is a small ground-the SANFL's SCG perhaps."
3. Woodville
4. Unley
"both grounds (Woodville & Unley) have great surroundings and aside from the fact that you are at the ground for the footy, both parks are great places to be with or without the footy."
5. Prospect
6. Alberton
7. Elizabeth
8. Richmond
"West's home ground is quite similar to South Adelaide, but with slightly more bearable temperatures. .................The biggest dissaspointment about Richmond oval is their dodgy digital clock...........get your act together Westies, or you'll be venue wooden spooner.
That honour currently belongs to South."
9. Noarlunga

I was thinking the same, no mention for North, Port, Dog's, just placings.

It was the TAB at Woodville that put it ahead of Unley, FFS, Unley would need a lot more than a TAB to get above about 6th or 7th.

I've got no idea what his claim to fame is, but it certainly doesn't appear to be his comments regarding the SANFL

Noarlunga> Unley+Elizabeth

Elizabeth is the worse place to go and watch footy.

What I found most befuddling was that he rated Norwood as number 1 based on good vantage points even though good vantage points are non-existant at the ground.

"West's home ground is quite similar to South Adelaide,"

WTF? :?

PS This is the same guy who had O'Hara and Wakelin as the 2 best South Austrlaian born ruckmen in the SANFL a couple of weeks back.

Don't know the background to Dale Clarke but his articles i've found to be pretty reasonable so far.
in relation to the ovals he also stated that Alberton and Elizabeth were the least hospitable for opposition supporters. A very subjective topic, i know Unley has it's detractors but also seems to have plenty of fans, Norwood Oval seems to be a bit the same from what i've heard. He did bucket Noarlunga, perhaps a little harshly, more about locality than the ground itself.

You've got to be Joking.
I can't think of a bad vantage point at Norwood.

Anyway I think this journo is excellent. :D

I can't think of a bad one at night, I usually stand behind the Northern goals and see what's happening at the southern end no problems, vice versa too.
Only bad vantage point I can think of is in the underground dunny!

He really struggles IMO...quoting the TAB had XXXX favourites in a match when the TAB dont bet on SANFL is just blatant poor research or just a guess...

If he was genuine with the SANFL he would read this forum...Id be interested in him replying

Well if you do, find the darkest pocket and shine your cap onto the oval.
