Vale Von Williams

Postby Dogwatcher » Fri Jun 01, 2007 11:13 am

Passed away overnight aged 82.

Wife of Fos, father of Mark, Anthony, Stephen and Jenny.

A Magpies matriach, I'm sure that all football supporters will acknowledge her passing with respect.

A female icon of the game, before women were willingly accepted into the game.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

A sad day for the Port Adelaide Football Club...

Thoughts are with the Williams family...
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...

Had the pleasure,as a teenager of chatting to Mark,Stephen and Von at the same time, sat next to them in the old Grandstand at Alberton the Sunday after a GF win.

What a wonderful woman, role model to her children and the football community in general.

Thoughts to the family.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Generations of a family often pass on with plenty of talk about their achievements. Few will leave a legacy that this family has.

RIP Von.

A sad day for the SA footballing community. RIP Mrs. Williams. I hope that Both Ports can come up with the goods over the weekend I will not be supporting them but i would love to see both win for the Williams Family. Lets hope Westies wins also for the Williams as they are a Part of our History as much as a part of Ports. Lets hope the SANFL has a minutes silence at all games as a mark of Respect to this great footballing and sporting family.

RIP Von Williams. I don't know how much impact you had on what happened since Fos joined Port, but the Williams-Port association has to be the most productive relationship in football history. You were part of great things indeed, the Williams name will surely be preserved in footy folklore.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
