They will be played at Max Basheer Reserve, at the same scheduled time.

It won't take you directly to the fixture for this week, unfortunately.

Can't imagine it being worse than Unley a couple of years ago. Hopefully this is a precedent that any oval not up to scratch won't host games.

Very disappointing for the dogs, Granty is very protective of the playing surface - he would be tearing his hair out at the moment.

Hopefully it gets cleaned up sufficiently before the next home game.

But if it's substandard then there's nothing to argue about. I dare say the long drought killed some of the grass, then all the rain made it into the bog it apparently is. A week or two will hopefully see the surface recover somewhat. And hopefully they get in some people to try to avoid this happening in the future.

Lots of rain, plus training or games 6-7 days per week doesn't auger well for grass - won't be surprised to see more of this if it is a SANFL initiated move.

Didn't they do the same with Unley a couple of years back.

I went and had a look today, Its amazing how much better it looks already after a week of no use. It will be fine by the next home game.

The oval will be fine, yes it needed to be reworked after the thrashing it got from all the teams, school and league teams using it for weeks while it was raining and last Friday night games just made the matters worse. The one thing that put the oval out was what happened to it on Sunday night, and there wasn't any football played that night. I just hope that no other grounds have idiots that ruin the oval just for their fun. The oval is looking good now and it will ready very shortly.

Sounds like similar problems to Unley in 2004 with the substandard conditions there back then attributed to vandalism. Hopefully Hamra Homes Oval looks a treat for the Eagles game.
