SANFL Country Round in 2008?

I was just reading the thread on the West v Central game in Berri and it sounds like everyone (supporters from both sides) really enjoyed themselves.
South play a few games at Encounter Bay.
Will/Should the time come when a whole round is dedicated to 4 games being played in the Country? (This year would have been perfect with Adelaide Oval out of action).
Berri, Pt Lincoln, Mt Gambier, Encounter Bay, Murray Bridge, Pt Pirie, Burra, wherever? If they scheduled something like this for a long weekend, the SANFL could probably get in bed with SA Shorts and promote local tourism at the same time.
Thoughts?

nah spread them out over the season, with every team playing one once a year and one team missing out, or all teams play once and 1 team plays twice.

agree...great idea but all in one round is too much...maybe one every 4 weeks for 4 rounds straight, leave it up to the clubs where they want to play in their designated area

One per long weekend, prefer Saturday or Sunday. Glenelg verses North at Mt Gambier- Easter long weekend.

Each club should be charged with the responsability of organising a home game in their country area once in the season, that way there are nine country games spread across the season.
We have two at present, South are doing Encounter Bay and Westies the Riverland. I think that there is a strong case for a public holiday weekend next year for Moonta to be given a go at hosting SANFL, I think that could be a huge success.
This year the other two clubs involved were the Eagles and Central, I think that those clubs should not have a requirement to do that, but that it be cycled around to other sides to take part. I would like to see the Eagles host in their area at Moonta though, I am sure that South would return the favor of them going to Encounter Bay by agreeing to play in Moonta. Eagles vs Central would probably be a better choice for that one though.

Not being at all familar with country venues, are there grounds in each zone suitable enough for SANFL .. ie, oval surface, changerooms, amenities etc?

Alot of country ovals are in better nick then suburban grounds.
I rekon the greatest issue will be changerooms !!!

Port Lincoln has Centenary Oval that is perfect for SANFL, several games have been played there before including Power v Richmond & Crows v Geelong. The new complex built here at Ravendale now has lights good enough for a night game.

If ABC has no dramas with it. Then the SANFL should definately do a country round.
