After the weekends results it would be fair to say the Eagles season is at the cross roads. With yet another disappointing result it leaves the Eagles at 4-4 for the season. With a big 3 weeks coming up the Eagles season could be all but over after round 13. In the next 3 rounds we travel out to Prospect to tackle the Roosters, follow that with a trip on a Saturday night to Elizabeth to take on top of the table Dogs and then to finish off our 3 week road trip to hell we take on the Pies at Alberton. Geeeeeez this is season defining. The Eagles must now lift and one would think must find some way to win 2 from the next 3. Anything less and curtains will be drawn early on our premiership defence. C'mon Eagles please show us something.

i wouldn't get that drastic with one bad game & norwood are arguably the form team of the competition

It's more than 1 bad game mate. We have been below par the most part of the season. With wins against South twice, Sturt and Glenelg. This is nothing to write home about. Every real test this season we have managed to fail. We have been made to look stupid against teams like Central, Port and now Norwood and we failed to get a win against lowly West. If this was to continue and we lost all of the next 3 that would mean The Eagles would be 4-7. It would be damn hard to claw your way back from there into the top 5.

I'd rate Sturt as the form side

Need too win 2/3 in the next games , hard task.


Time too get back to basics

McKenzie centre half back for Starters ( need to control this like last year)
Schwarze forward pocket ( bloody hell do we miss Westbrook)
Saltz at Full Forward ( Someone that can take a grab )
Pass half forward flank ( just run and lead up with groke)
Treeby on the ball ( someone that can crash)
Stewart on the wing ( wasted in back pocket and going backwards in that position)
Pedlar half back flank ( getting pasted in the full back line)

Don't get too distraught, Eagle. We were in a worse position last year and ended up making the GF. It is a long season. Good teams perform well in September and October, not June. Even during Port's dynasty in the 80's and 90's, most of their losses were in June.

What you mean to say that matches @ Prospect, Elizabeth and then Alberton in successive weeks wouldn't be difficult mate. C'mon you have to be kidding me. They would have to be the 3 toughest suburban trips you can make in league footy today.

My main concern out of all of this BP is that we don't seem to be the same team of the past few seasons. We haven't hit our straps all season. It can all be turned around in the matter of weeks I do realise this but geeeez it's gonna be bloody tough.

I'm with Proudy - you're looking at the next three games from a negative point of view.
We were 3 and 5 in 2005 - and albeit we had the last season from a special group of players, we had faith (as did Roy, the Players and core supporters) that we could still shape and figure in the season's result. From there we won 14 on the trot to take the flag...

You say North will be smarting from this loss (and come out firing next week), as will we after Saturday's loss to Sturt (look out South!). You should be saying look out North, as you need to get your season back in shape, and you play three teams to get it back in shape against.

Given the improvement in Norwood and Sturt, it'll be up to the Eagles and North to keep Port at bay for the finals.

I know that it will be a close game. I'm not optimistic at all from an Eagles perspective mate. We have a lot to prove.
