A nicer kid I never met. I was the runner for his development squad side (also contained Adrian Wilson and Cameron Faulkner - first Centrals team to win the U15 championships) and he is an exceptional person. Always worked hard and was an honest contributor every week.

Obviously combined with his injury run, his career outside of footy has called an early end to his footy career.

Interesting fact - he is Peter Bythien's nephew.

Best of luck with whatever you choose to do in the future Nick.

His biggest blunder (other than actually leaving Centrals) was not coming to North after out pricing himself and taking the dough at West.

I can't argue with that - his opportunity was only a season away at Centrals. All he needed was a little patience.

Good luck Nick.

A former EFC junior.

I'm sure the Lions will be very happy to have him in the side.

SMAC - you said the first Centrals side to win the under 15 championships...I remember a very talented Centrals country side winning one in the early 90s. Did you mean first city side to win one?

Sorry mate, yes I did mean City side.

I also played in the first City side to ever win a game back in '89 (that's what the club told us anyway). Kept my guernsey after the championships, to remember my vice captaincy against Woodville. Smac jr wore it the other week in the heritage game - got to love the white guernsey.

If I can remember playing against Woodville in a white guernsey, does that make me really old or just aging?

Smac - you did better than me. I played two seasons of it (not long after you) and didn't win one game.

Also, that white guernsey rocks!
