Unley will always be Unley Oval the council and the local residents will start a civil war if anything was proposed

Woodville could be renamed 'Hills Oval' after our major sponsor.

These are all tongue-in-cheek proposals here and no offence or malice is intended:
Rob Gerrard could use another one of his products for Prospects naming rights - I propose using his Linda electric blankets as the name and name it Linda Stadium.
The state government could grab Alberton's naming rights for Department of Correctional Services Park
The Liberal Party could get Unley's naming rights for Liberal Oval
Likewise the Labor Party could get Woodville's naming rights for Woodville Oval and name it ALP Oval
Finally, lets go local for Thebarton, the Brickworks could do a deal to call it Brickworks Park

Going serious for a second .... it's amazing how quickly we adopt the new ground names and find ourselves repeating the company name without even realising it. AAMI Stadium .... was it ever called anything else??? I find myself saying ... "tough game at AAMI last week" .... aarghhh ... AAMI is an insurance company and now they host football games in their office buildings by the sounds.
Not objecting to it tho .... happy to have sponsors money supporting out football clubs where would they be without it. Just interesting how accepting we are of it so quickly.
The ABC always make me laugh when they take their non-sponsor thing too far and refuse to use any of the Company names. I think they call the Pura Cup the 'Interstate Cup' or something.

I usually call the grounds by their original names. They'll always be called that. Saves having to learn a new name when the 3 year sponsor deal wears out. Still, I'm not opposed to having the clubs gain sponsorship from naming rights. The only ground in SA I'd hate to see change is Adelaide Oval.

Alberton Oval will NEVER be anything other than Alberton Oval. I could only imagine the up roar of majorly pissed off fans if the name was ever changed.
Port Adelaide will never give up it's Alberton Oval name for money. If they do, Fos Williams will turn in his grave.

Allan Scott will challenge that.

I think most people understand the benefits of naming rights for grounds but barring AAMI stadium no one I know refers to SANFL grounds by their 'corporate name'. It'll always be The Parade, The Bay, Elizabeth etc.
