STURT’S JOHN MCDONALD WINS ROUND 11 COCA-COLA STAR SEARCH AWARD NOMINATION
John McDonald from the Sturt Football Club has been named the Round Eleven Coca-Cola Star Search Award nominee.
In just his second League match, 17 year old McDonald produced an impressive display for Sturt as the Double Blues recorded their seventh win of the season with a 27 point victory over the Port Adelaide Magpies at Unley Oval.
Playing on the wing, John accumulated 19 possessions including 12 kicks, 7 handballs and 4 marks and kicked one goal.
From the Bridgewater Football Club in the Adelaide Hills, McDonald progressed through Sturt’s underage and Reserves teams before making his League debut in Round 10 this season. John was part of the 2007 U18 Academy

I reckon he copped a fair knock in the first half (had to come off) so hats off to him for a great game. I can see where you're coming from Blue Boy re the Mattner comment...
