I went to Noarlunga today to see my mate the legendary Punk Rooster
don the Rooster guernsey in the legends game.
Other NA legend Barrie Robran approached the Punk during the week
and one great man asked the other great man if he play for North.
Unfortunately Robran with suspect knees could not play and had to
ask Punk to play in his spot.

LINE UPS
NA
EBEL
HINDE
ROE
TILLER
FOWDEN
LEAL
HAMILTON
PUNK ROOSTER

SA
KAPPLER
KOSTER
HONOR
MILLS
PLEONGES
TREVENA
WHITFORD
BUTLER
ROCKET ROD HOLLYWWOD CAMPBELL

That was the listed teams

SA had the breeze in the first of 2 halfs
I offered PUNK a donouGt in the players race, but he was committed to a cause
and for a rare time knocked back a free feed.

The ball was sent deep into the NA forward pocket Punk gathered the loose ball
and on his left foot snapped over his shoulder for a point to start the game.
Ray Ebel delisted from PA marked and converted for the games opening goal
SA 0-1
NA 1-1
Shortly after Punk now in the midfield possessed the ball in the middle, evaded
a tackle and sent out a bullet like right foot spearing lace out pass to a team-mate.
With this momentum the ball was marked by TILLER who nailed a set shot.
Such precision like kicking on both feet by PUNK [is he right or left footed]
1/2 time
SA 0-2
NA 2-1
We also saw PUNK tackle well on 2 occasions in this half
NA had more run than SA who were relying too much on Hollywood Rodney Campbell.

SA came out after 1/2 time and dominated general play
WHITFORD on the run kicked a gem from an acute angle
SA 1-2
NA 2-2
Despite kicking into the breeze SA were playing well
PUNK was quieter, Campbell irrepressable and took a couple of gutsy marks.
Deep in the pocket for SA at the throw in WHITFORD took the ball out of
the ruck and sensationally snaps a goal his second
SA 2-3
NA 2-3

NA with about 2 minutes to go streamed into attack, PUNK sprinting the
length of the field made himself the option but his team mate shot for goal
and missed THE LOT, why would you not pass to PUNK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SA went forward Campbell took a great mark and shortly after number[36] had a set shot.
Number 36 kicked truly and SA hit the front
Sorry I didnt know the player, 5RPH and I should do more research .....
SA 3-3
NA 2-3

The game is nearly over, SA with 3 unanswered goals seemed to have the game won.
NA at the half forward line desperately trying to score.
There is a scrimmage in a pack
PUNK gets possession, seconds remaining
PUNK pirouettes out of the pack, defies the tacklers and with a rivetting
sweeping handball finds ROE outside the pack
ROE takes off runs to the 40m mark and kicks
kicks
as he kicks
the siren goes
the kick goes long
hard
and
straight
for a sausage roll and its its itsa DRAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
PUNKS sensational handball sets up the last dynamic play
What a handball, ala ROBRAN, OATEY or EBERT.

SA 3-3
NA 3-3

BEST PLAYERS
NA
PUNK, ROE, EBEL
SA
CAMPBELL, WHITFORD, TREVENA

After the game I managed to get PUNKs autograph in my budget.
I should put it on Ebay and donate the proceeds to 5RPH.

The above information is to the best of my ability and I apologise
if I have made any errors
Also without being biased the PUNK did all those things I mentioned
and did play very well.

Great promotion by both clubs, great day.

The B grade game was played after
Number 16 for NA will win the Medal as nostraWEDGIEnamus predicted pre season.

On that note perhaps WEDGIE or BP could play next year....

Now its PHIL H turn.
Well done for your promotions today.
Robbie Williams songs
Face painting
Giving your sponsors a plug

Southgate Holdens $1000 challenge to a person who can kick
a goal from the southern pocket on the near impossible angle as well today.
Todays contesetant was Jason, a Chris Cairns look a like
He kicked the footy to the top of the sqaure a nicish kick
The ball bounced and turned like a Murali off break and bounced
and bounced
and bounced
and bounced
for a goal, what a kick
Jason won a grand, the sponsor got a plug, great promotion
Im glad Jason didnt have to handball, he had his hand in a large bandage.

Great day
But dunno about the ovals name
Being named after 2 English gay cricketers..........

if you count 4 games of mini-league during the 80's, then yes :)

Seriously, I've never played senior footy for the NAFC- despite it being my childhood & lifelong ambition...
