Number of Games Played

Jade Sheedy was due to play his 150th game for Sturt this week (in front of family and friends travelling from interstate) at the Adelaide Oval. As per the Round 11 Budget, Jade was credited with 147 games. That would make Round 11 his 148th, Round 12 his 149th and Routh 13, this week, his 150th. Nothing scientific about that however, the Budget for Round 12 shows a reduction back to 145 games. How can this be? Apparently, the SANFL has made a mid season decision that state games will no longer be counted and have deducted Jade's three state games from his total. I can't seem to find any news about this decision on the SANFL website. Even if people think this is a reasonable decision, it would probably have been good form to let Jade know without him having to investigate for himself. He has his eagle-eyed wife to thank for spotting the change in the Budget! Not quite the same to travel from Mildura for a 147th.

Which was about as much notice as was given when state games were included in the games total.

Jade Sheedy was due to play his 150th game for Sturt this week
But if his total included SA games, then he was never going to play his 150th game for Sturt this week. It would have always been his 147th

Pity he does not play his 150th the week after this. The Sunraysia comp has a split round and we (Imperials) have that week off. Probably would have seen Seamus Maloney and a few other boys come across as well.
Cheers!

Wow, i was in my element that night with all the sturt players from the day around!!!

:D
I hope Jade can play another 100 more

Jimmy, you leadfoot!! It is a five hour drive for those who stay within the speed limit *grins*
Anyway, five hours is still not far to go. Am fairly confident Seamus will come down on Saturday week to see Sturt as he quite often does when we are not playing.
Cheers.

I travel those same roads Bulldog Proud, and I reckon it's a four hour trip...hour and a half to Renmark, two and a half from Renmark to Adelaide....

Dogwatcher, the distance from Mildura to Adelaide is 400km and there are a number of towns you go through which slow you down to 80km and 60km at various stages. There is also invariably stretches of 25km roadworks, particularly around Truro. You can reach Elizabeth perhaps in a shade over four hours but then it is virtually another hour to get through to Unley.
Cheers.

Just realised that Sturt have the bye during the week that Imperials have off. Bummer.

True, point taken. I just thought that you drove as quickly as you ran between wickets for Prospect *smiles*
I drive about as quickly as I run between wickets for West Torrens - very very very very slowly *grins*

Well, see, if you're going that side of town (can't think why you would be!), then you should be turning off the Sturt Highway just after Yamba, heading through Loxton, on to Karoonda, then to the South Eastern freeway - then you'll be there in two and a half hours from Loxton, plus your hour and a half from Mildy.

If you take that route, Mildura is 430km from Adelaide and you still have a few towns to slow down through. Still takes five hours for me as I always head to Glenelg when I come to Adelaide.
Cheers

You're just so difficult aren't you....

PS: if you're heading out that side of town, I'd recommend the route that ends at the SE Freeway. Less damned annoying traffic lights to get through.

True, went Main North Road the first couple of times and the stretch from Gawler just seems to take forever. The route through Murray Bridge seems more pleasant although longer in kilometres overall. Plus, it takes me through the towns where two great West Torrens cricketers come from. Bow Hill for James Smith and Karoonda for Corey Knight.
The journey is even better though if I stop at Barmera to see a certain lady *blushing grin*
Cheers!
