10 Goal Average margin

After 14 rounds, Centrals points for and against average out at 119.85 pts for/game, 66.3 pts against/game. That's a margin of 53 points a game :D .(I know that works out at 9 goals but doesn't everyone sensationalise their heading? ) Has any other team averaged this over a season?

Is that the record Spelly? Where does Centrals percentage rate in the list of all time great percentages? (Mind you, that's comparing the Dogs' "work in progress" against the best "end of season" percentages of years past.)

What about the average WINNING margin then? Reckon that would jump over 10 goals.

And Port in 1980 had an average winning margin of 76.1 points, just shading Glenelg in 1975 with 75.7.

What about west in 83?

Can't imagine West from 83 would have had one of the all time great percentages, considering we beat them by 70 odd points at Footy Park that year. Big Rick kicked 15 goals that same day. A bit hard to recover from that sort of a pummeling to then get on an all time list. I will howver say that Westies were undoubtedly very powerful that year. I read an article written about ten years after that match, which suggested that the Sturt side of '83 would have been strong enough to have beaten many premiership teams from other years, but Westies were just so good that year that there was really no way the Blues would get any closer than they did on Grand Final day. West '83 was one of the greatest SANFL sides of all time according to the article, I tend to agree.

Spelly - how many times have teams kickled more than 8 goals when the temperature has been less than 8 degrees AND when it rained in more than 1 but not less than 3 quarters AND the umpiring free kick count went against the other team?

Because I reckon MY team did that on the weekend and I want to point out this obscure stat on SAFooty!

I have said this before .... can we give the great man (and media personality) Spelly a bit of a break sometimes? He has his own life to get on with too - not just here for our statistical pleasure :D

I tell you what these endless requests would give me the sh*ts but Spelly is clearly a more patient man than I :D

Both % figures are at the end of the minor round (both drop after the finals), but Port had 65.31% in 1980.

And the West Adelaide average winning margin in 1983 was 53.6 points. (The two finals averaged 54 - 74 and 34 points)
