With only 1 South Aussie making the All Australian u18 side this year, do you think there will be a shortage of South Aussie talent going into the AFL next season

Hopefully.
Strangley, I'm with KG on this...
How Greenwood missed selection in that team while three players from a team that did not win a game in Div 2 got named is beyond me. The kid is a gun.
Great news for Port if he gets missed in the draft, and it would be just like Richmond to select three inter-married two-headers with their first picks in the draft...

Don't think so, will have the usual 4 or 5 (maybe more) picked up.

Last year I was sure Hurley would of been drafted - he made the All Australian side and was captain of the SA side in front of Gibbs.
All Australian selection has has some bearing on drafting but not the ultimate reason obviously !!!

Did he nominate for the draft?
Better for you lot - and the comp in general - that he
didn't get drafted.

Lee Staples (WWTFC) could be a smokey. Played for the state U18s and had a very good carnival. Was clearly the best for WWT's reserves on Sunday. A very hard working CHF with good hands. Size could be against him.

I didn't think you had to nominate for the draft anymore - aren't all SANFL players eligible?

Hurley's disposal is barely SANFL standard let alone AFL standard.

Ferret with three ADELAIDE SCOUTS watching the reserves on Saturday I am pretty sure they noticed him .
Because they needed to watch someone other than Willits.

I haven't seen Staple play. Is he similar to Salter, who I think could be drafted? Possibly Hier as a Full Back as well. All these guys are around 190-192cm, which is not the size of the big kpp's of the opposition and I wonder if in this day and age that counts against them. I also expect Petrenko to be picked up and not sure on Broadbent's age, but if he is eligible, he'll go as well.
Given this draft isn't meant to be as strong as last year, I wouldn't be surprised if those overlooked last year get another chance, even if on rookie lists - which is why 19 year olds Salter, Hier, Wundke from North and Havelberg from Central could go.

I'll through in another name overhead an Adelaide scout at another Eagles game mention the name Jolly who was playing in the forward line for the eagles seconds that day.
Salter and Heir I expected to be picked up last year ahead of Jacobs.
As well as Petrenko would they be interested in Fairclough ? I heard these two were used as on ballers / centremen for the state u18 side may have lifted them up in the draft stakes .
And would young Fuller be old enough to be rookied listed ? Just to stop the Power taking him under father son rule .

Westies best performed kid is D Caire, is a rough chance but was overlooked last year.
Another to watch is Junior Ruckman Judd Robson (nephew of that good looking eagle), may be a good chance to debut in the seniors this or next week.
Braydyn Fisher is a tall. that is slowly showing some promise and is a youngster that has had a run in the seniors

Surely a few of Sturts young guns would be a showing, the slightly older younger players in Crane and Evans would have to have a shot, aswell as young guns McDonald and Wark

Pretty poor carnival by SA. Could well be a very very lean year for SA draftees this year. Only 2 or 3 definates. Could be quite a few go late/rookie list picks but id say only 2 or 3 in the first 3 rounds.

Shows how many Blues games you saw last year... one of the few bright lights of last season. Tool.

Wow. I saw him at least 5 times, including Round 23 last year. His first 3 disposals all went to Norwood.
Mate, call me a tool if you wish, but you can't argue the truth.

Interesting to note that the Crows scholarship holder from NSW was selected All Australian.
- Any thoughts Mark Ducker etc etc ?

Given the amount of possessions he was getting last season, Hurley's poor disposal was OBVIOUSLY the reason he wasn't picked up in the last draft.
