While I'd personally rather forget it, the numbers are frightening.

A combined losing margin of 195 points against Sturt and Norwood.

In those two massive losses, South has had:
- 28 less long kicks
- 62 less short kicks
- 12 more clanger kicks
- 94 less kicks overall
- 151 less effective disposals, yet have had seven more ineffective
- 144 less disposals
- 58 less marks
- 42 less uncontested marks
- 41 less loose ball gets (which are valuable to a side winning)
- 40 less contested possessions
- South has only had 70 inside 50s to their opposition's 130
- South has committed 59 disposal turnovers to 35
- South has conceded nine 25-metre penalties and only received one
- South has had 103 clangers (57 v Norwood, highest I've recorded for an SANFL game) to the opposition's 80
- South has had just 29 scorings shots in two weeks (8.7 and 5.9), and in return, their opposition has had a total of 74 scoring shots.

On average, teams in the ABC TV game over the past month are averaging 62 long kicks in a match. The Panthers only just managed to pass 50 in both games over the past fortnight.

On average, teams in the ABC TV game over the past month are averaging 49 inside 50s in a match. South has managed a dismal 35 in both weeks (including being down 47-16 at one stage in the third quarter v the Redlegs).

C'mon Gordy - let the cat out of the bag (so to speak!) otherwise you will be accused like I was of being a rumour monger with no credibility (cue Hondo).

EDIT UPDATE - doesn't matter now seeing as SAFC have posted on their website that Kenna has left the club!

Could probably add the loss of Stephen Kenna to this list.

Well according to Studley and KG just a minute ago when reading out the Kenna story, they are saying that there is big unrest at South according to calls and faxes they have received. A few more players ready to walk is what they are saying?

5AA have made a call to South for comment/clarification. The call would have been made by Dennis Browne who is filling in as the producer for the Sports Show after the sudden and apparently controversial departure of Andrew Pearce Monday night?

I sincerely hope Kenna leaving proves to be an isolated incident and not the first rat to leave the ship. As I said to UKPanther after our game every team in every sport has it's peaks and troughs...and the reward for riding out the bad times is that the good ones are that much sweeter.

Stick with it Southies...can't last forever :goodman:

JAS

There you go boys. I was on the money!!!

Kenna the first one to leave, now just wait, the domino effect will start to kick in very soon!!!

What the hell is going on down South?
JAS - we have not had good times for years. It's very sad.

Wish the club would advise all members what the story is at South. We hear all the rumours and inuendo!!!

It's about time the club got their S**t together.

Sick and tired of it being a self destructive club!!!

South are paying for poor decisions made over the past several years. The club is really at the cross roads and I hope that they have the courage to make the hard decisions that need to be made.

Every year South hit the field with the best players bought from other competitions and every year the result is the same. The club has to look at this and accept that what they are doing is wrong. Sure recruit a couple of recruits, yet not out number the rest with recruited players.

The best thing that could happen is for several players to leave the club, yet to do so on good terms with the club. It is my thoughts that the best thing South could do is to speak openly with players recruited from interstate and make a general offer to all of them that they can be paid out for their contract and released from it on good terms if they dont want to be at the club next year. If those players want to play for other SANFL clubs this year even, free them up to do so with the blessing of the club.

What South need is players that can say with all sincerity that they are 100% for the jumper of the club, if a player isnt in that position and considering the current situation, many are not, then let them go freely. This gives us the chance to concentrate on the players that really do want to be there.

I hope that Pyman walks, yet I somehow do not think that is going to happen, if he stays I think that the club will continue to have similar problems next year.

The best outcome for South Adelaide would be to sign Luke Darcy from the Western Bulldogs as coach if he does retire this year. His father coached the club and his family has a long association with the club. I think that if he is given the resources to provide training to players in our own zones, we stand a good chance of doing well and reversing our current situation.

Would Darcy be better playing as an assistant? Surely has a year or two of SANFL left in him. Maybe bring in someone with former experience who knows what's required and say jsut for one year to teach Luke Darcy what's required. Similar as Port did with Ginever. Cahill gave Port a real leg up the season he coached them and while they haven't gone on with it since there's no reason why it couldn't have.

Trevena, - Having too much success in his current role damn it! :D

Cahill, - Would have been great to see him come back to his original club! Yet ultimatley Port is where his heart is, he is past the stage of making a Panther comback!

Mick Nunan, - Some say that he is already taking an advisory role, yet I havent seen anything official.

Phil Carman, - A coach that has a proven that he can take a bottom SANFL side and make them competitive in finals, in his case with a lot less resources than he would have at South!

Southee, no disrespect, but why would Darren want to leave the Power when his stated career aim (I used to work with him) was to be a career coach?

More chance of staying gainfully employed in the footy industry as a career assistant in a development role (with his CV) than risk it as SANFL League caoch when there are forces outside of your control (Power and Crows) influencing your performacne.

At the Power he gets to work with some of the best young talent in the country whose sole focus is to be footballers at. At a SANFL level he deals with the also-rans (so to speak) whose priorities are affected by the same issues yu and I have earning a crust...

Unfortunaltely SANFL clubs are primarily stuck with untried coaches (Noble, Clarkson etc) who want the experience and then move on to bigger and better things or ex-SANFL players Jars, Mickan or Weed who have no real chance of going to the AFL or have been there already...
