Some bloke just rang 5aa to point out that he added up the points for in the afl ladder and the points against, and amazingly they are identical.

(Incredibly, this also applies to the SANFL ladder as well)

ha ha, I heard it too, would have to be the dumbest thing Ive ever heard on 5AA, the caller thought it was ground breaking news and he thought it was an amazing fact. Cornsey didn't know whether to laugh or cry!

Last season (or maybe the one before) he alterted the viewers to the fact that the while the "worm" (run rate) had gone up and down quite a bit during the innings, coincidentally at the completion of the 50th over it was exactly at the same level as the horizontal line that depicts the average run rate for the innings...

Ah

Does the same thing apply to the points for and against? By adding the 2 columns up we have altered their position in spacetime thereby meaning that the sum of the radius of the mean points will never coincide with pie (22/7) nor will Pythagorus' theorum hold while the individual team points scored measured along the spacetime continuim equal the 4th derivative of the points conceded

Or something like that .....
