Some bloke just rang 5aa to point out that he added up the points for in the afl ladder and the points against, and amazingly they are identical.

(Incredibly, this also applies to the SANFL ladder as well) ](*,) ](*,)

and from what I can gather that's up against some pretty stiff competition.

Who's this fella gonna call when he discovers that the sun comes up on the same side of the sky every day?

Sure it wasn't a certain Mr Richie Benaud.

Last season (or maybe the one before) he alterted the viewers to the fact that the while the "worm" (run rate) had gone up and down quite a bit during the innings, coincidentally at the completion of the 50th over it was exactly at the same level as the horizontal line that depicts the average run rate for the innings...

Astounding.

Einstein must be spinning in his grave realising that he never worked that one out. ******* theory of everything is right there in the footy ladder.

When my dear son was very young he asked.......

Dad, what do the cricketers do when there is an advert on.....?

My reply....

The players change ends and the bowler runs in from the other end.......

Everyone changes position......

My ex's reply.....

Don't be so bloody stupid...... Tell him the truth.......

My mother in law asked me if the swimmers arms ever get tangled up in that moving white line towards the finish in the pool.

1 That caller    what a classic! I wonder if that morning he realised it was as far to walk to his letter-box as it was to walk back?

2 The chances of two teams finishing on identical % and points would be infestimal .... any stats guys out there able to work out the odds of that happening?

Um actually Hondo, if you consider quantum physics it sin't the same distance to and from your letter box, but it's pretty close 8)

I'm guessing it is because you cannot measure the position of something in spacetime without affecting its position in spacetime. Therefore by measuring the distance to your letterbox you have actually altered its position in spacetime.

Far out

Ah

Does the same thing apply to the points for and against? By adding the 2 columns up we have altered their position in spacetime thereby meaning that the sum of the radius of the mean points will never coincide with pie (22/7) nor will Pythagorus' theorum hold while the individual team points scored measured along the spacetime continuim equal the 4th derivative of the points conceded

Or something like that .....
