Only within half a chance if the first two and a half quarters of the match just gone are repeated for 4 quarters.

This might have to be my bye game. Should be a beauty, Eagles are hitting their straps & might have a chance.

i actually think wwt can win, not that i think they are better but for the extra hard training central are 'apparently' doing & central seemed slow/tired today according to some of my sources & if not for callinan port may have won

A selection dilema for the EAGLES how to fit all the top fit players into the league team . :D How does a forwardline with Passador Schwarze and Salter sound on the large tract of Elizabeth very very very good to me . :D

This games appears as though it has the makings of one of the games of the season so far. Central's not in as good of form of late and The Eagles with 4 wins in a row. If we can get back an extra couple of players this week we may just cause the biggest upset of the season. The game being at Hamra Homes Oval isn't good for us but having said that we do have a good record out there. cue: spelly for the stats.

C'mon EAGLES !!!

It's an important game for the Eagles double-chance hopes

Win, and they are in for a real shot at skeaking ahead of North

Central run back and forward harder than any other team. If the Eagles can match them in this area and quell the influence of Thomas, Ware and Slade, I think we can get the edge in other areas and can win.

Expect the most physical encounter of the season. Central will not want to let the Eagles get a sniff and have an opportunity to halt their momentum.

The first of three tough games for the Eagles in a row. Win two of three and that should be enough to get a top 3 spot.

Yeah, you're right! Central has only won 6 in a row & lost 1 for the year-playing crap!

What's funniest though Centurion, is that yesterday (28/07/07) at 8:07 am the same poster wrote:

Having seen every team in the competition play this season it's very easy to say Central is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the comp. Expect a football lesson "pies". This one could be very embarrasing, very quickly. I'm expecting a Central win by 12+ goals

Should be a good game.
For Eagles fans who don't want to go to Elizabeth, can always came and see the 17s and 19s play. Games are at the same time as the reserves and league.

Whats funny is that watching the scoreboard at Norwood Centrals appeared to be trailing for most of their game against Port. The majority of SANFL fans thought that Centrals would have creamed Port. What Port has shown the rest of the comp is that there may well be a chink in Centrals armor.
And I can not quote like you have but one of you Centrals fans said in a post somewhere if it was not for Callahan(spelling sorry)you would have lost.
Don't tell me that Centrals are unbeatable after yesterday's game.
Question for Spellcheck how many times has the grandfinal winner lost the anzac day match and then won the next game against their grandfinal opponent.
Cheers
This could be the game of the year or the game against sturt or the game against north or all 3 could be the games of the year for the EAGLES.

There are plenty of chinks in Centrals' armour, like most teams.
However, I think you'll find that most of the people that are saying the Dogs are unbeatable are involved with opposition clubs.
Most Centrals supporters that I talk to, and read their posts on here, are confident of what their team can achieve, but I wouldn't say they're thinking we're unbeatable.

And, please, could you make up your mind, which game is the game of the year for the Eagles - your boys, like any side, can only build themselves up so many times.

Never said Centrals are unbeatable have been saying all year they are beatable, Sturt proved that they are...

Will take a good side to beat them and you (the eagles) are capable of doing it, just scratching my head wondering how a team can go from being "leaps and bounds ahead of the comp" and then 12 hours later "Not in as good as form of late"...

That is the unknown I think. In previous years, we have just about wrapped up a top 3 spot already, as Central and Sturt have this year. This means you can build for finals. Rest key players if they're not 100% etc. etc.

The Eagles need to maintain the form they've been building from now on and keep winning to give themselves a chance of the all important top 3 position due to the ordinary first half of the year.

Being up for 12 weeks in a row is extremely difficult*. However, that is what will be required of the Eagles this season.

Cant answer that one Tassie .I didn't state that fact
But I expected Centrals to be all over Port like an itchy jumper. That is football though you can never take any team lightly.

Tassie - there win loss record shows they are leaps and bounds ahead of the comp as per my post yesterday but most centrals fans would tell you although they are continuing their winning ways but it hasn't been done in normal central dominant fashion. That is what I meant.

Ant team can beat any other team on the day. If footy was totally predictable non of us would be as passionate about the game as we are.

I didn't see any doggies fans saying that Port would be a walk-over, in fact Cenrurion said that it would be close and still undecided until the last 10 minutes or so. He was right on the money 8)

Home ground advantage is a significant factor. The dogs lost away and have taken close by Glenelg, South and Norwood until the last quarter - on their home grounds. The blow-outs have usually either occurred at Elizabeth or neutral grounds. I'm just happy that we now appear to be safe with a top 3 possie.
