Match Length: 115 mins 42 secs

* Port's disposal efficiency (82%) is the highest I've recorded for an SANFL league match.
* Port had 14 backwards kicks, the highest I've recorded for an SANFL league match.
* For the fourth week in a row, South has had less than 40 inside 50s. The average for teams at SANFL level is 49.
* South won the clearances for the third time in four weeks, but again lost by a stupidly ridiculous margin for the fourth successive time.
* South received more 25-metre penalties today than they have over all three of their previous matches.
* South has conceded 90 goals in their past four matches, and only kicked 36 themselves.
* In fact, South's oppositions over the past four weeks have had more inside 50s than the Panthers' overall scores (conceded 255 inside 50s, and have only scored 254 points themselves).

I'll post Centrals v W/WT stats on Tuesday for those interested.

11 goals in time on. Looks like South have caught the North bug, and need to play to the siren.

At half time Port had 34 to South's 14.

It's nothing new for us. Over the past month we've been annihilated in the forward 50 entries:

Round 15 v Sturt: 62 - 35, loss of 110 points
Round 16 v Norwood 68 - 35, loss of 85 points
Round 17 v Glenelg: 61 - 39, loss of 64 points

thats a disgrace, i dont know what the SANFL average is but the AFL average this season is 51 per game...

Great work Scott and LOL @ "stupidly ridiculous margin".

Looking at those stats, the telling factor is the number of goals between 30-50m.

No discernible difference in any other area of the game, in fact South win several of the categories, but it appears that what won it for Port was their ability to carry the ball inside 50 and set up easier goal-scoring opportunities.

No suprise really, as with Biasci and Jenner we have two of the best ball-carriers in the competition - but these stats really highlight that fact.
