The clever Car Park Attendants at Hickinbotham

Those that were involved in the Reserves Game down at Arctic Park yesterday found themselves and their cars boxed in due to the clever car parking attendants lining the cars up in rows of 3, rather than 2, leaving the middle row nowhere to move forward or back.

Finally when many cars were called over the PA system to move them, could some of us finally leave. 45 mins later than planned.

Well done South Adelaide

It only affected Magpies supporters, so who really gives a toss?

Just another example of the 'quality' of the club.
Quite frankly, South Adelaide are the LAUGHING STOCK of the SANFL, both on & off the ground. :(

They only own their Ground because the State Premier 'shored up' the financial payment for it.

With all due respect to people such as Phil H, South are a joke & have been for DECADES !!!

What is with the constant South Adelaide bashing LEH? Whatever the assistance they have received from outside sources, it should also be remembered that South, more than any other club has been moved around at the whim of the SANFL and lost a lot of investment in future supporters, players, identity etc. in the process. Only now that the spotlight of footy in SA has been moved to the AFL have South finally landed at a steady home, but as I said, the main focus in SA is now on the AFL so South have their backs to the wall trying to establish themselves in a new area, with a fraction of the attention they could have banked on had the move been made pre-Crows.
Give them a break.

Must admit, I had some trouble with the parking myself the last time I was there. It was my first time parking around the oval, perhaps I misheard the attendant's instructions, not sure - I'll know better next time.

Yep. A standing =D> =D>

Glasshouses, LEH. They've had some pretty good company over the years. Woodville - 160 wins in 27 years, Torrens - 4 flags in 90 years. Hardly stuff of legend.

South are now the 'new' face of the SANFL in the outer Southern suburbs in much the same way Centrals cut new ground in the North. Those of us who love the local product should be, at least, a little more constructive - if not supportive.

i parked around the ground for the south-glenelg game earlier in the year, i told the first girl where i had wanted to park and she told me there were no parks available there.................yet the area was empty........anyway moved onto my second choice and she told George we were coming around..

I didnt think anyone could take car parking as serious as George did that day......he made sure every car was put in the place that he wanted!!!!!

It's an honest mistake (well I assume). But I think that people who parked last in that spot - to box the middle cars in - should have said something instead of just parking there.

I agree with most of what you say there and feel for the South faithful who have been longing for some finals action and an honest effort week in, week out. However, they have also been given a fantastic opportunity in a growing area and should be doing better with the resources they have at their disposal.

The positive for South is they're strong financially. They just need the right people to harness what could/should be another Central District.

Come on guys it seems like the masses have taken up Panthers bashing as some sort of new sport.
Give us a break we have made so many mistakes this year that it could not possibly get any worse for us.
2008 could truely prove be the year of the Panther. Without doubt we will improve.
We cannot afford to continue on with all of this negative stuff.
It is no good for the SAFC , the SANFL or all the footy lovers out there.

Spelly that's so sensible it made me

Yeah, blame the attendants for the Einstein family & his mates parking 3 cars deep

 Sorry people, just realised I gave the wrong impression with this part of my post. My issue was at the gate and not with the actual parking. Like I said, probably my fault anyway. Ended up with a good front row possie. :)

Is it true you can no longer park across the road? I heard they closed it and you now have to park in the carpark or in the ground for a fee. Is there anywhere there you can park the car for nothing? If not then I will jump on the SAFC bashing bandwagon.

it is true you can no longer park across the ground and you have to pay to park your car inside the ground whether it be around the ground or at the back.

BUT you can park your car for free just across the road in the Colonnades shopping centre car park and just pray to god your car, tyres etc are still on it when the games finished!!!!!

I do that when browsing around in Colonnades before the game - and we're normally in there 45mins max! :D

What I find bizarre about the parking at Hickinbotham is that once you park the car you have to go back outside to pay/get season ticket clipped.
