Can Chambers get to the Ton?

Postby haloman » Thu Aug 16, 2007 1:54 am

Can the great man get there? If so when will he do it?
Come on you Double Blues fan lets hear AAAAALLLLLLL about it.
If he does get there does he become a monte to get drafted by someone next season. Surely 100 goals in the best comp outside the AFL would see him drafted somewhere. Thoughts?
Choco Williams Lives!!! We have seen the REVOLUTION come and go. You have "LIVED THE CREED". All you Power people are now gonna have to "KEEP THE FAITH". Slogan for 2010-11 PAFC.....or is it PAPFC.......I never get it right.

We've discussed it a couple of times on here too (see below) but it appears his only chance will come in the finals unless he kicks a bag soon, he's slowed down a bit but that's probably understandable with the wetter conditions.

With the run home we've got I can't see him making it unfortunatley...

Should kick a few (4 or 5) this weekend, then maybe 3 per game in the final three rounds.

Ideal scenario - Chambers kicks 100th goal to get us into Grand Final...

(I thought about the ideal scenario being Chambers kicks 100th goal to win Grand Final but I reckon that would take the shine off the 100th a bit).

I still think he is a huge show to do it before the end of the minor round, if not then he is certain to do it if Sturt can play in two or more finals matches.

As Wedgie said, he just needs one big bag (a seven or eight goal haul) and I think that will take the pressure right off. If he could manage it this week, and he has done so against Port twice already this year, then that would leave him with around 14 or 15 to kick in the last few games + finals if needed.

He has been a little down of late but a huge game from him is right around the corner, hopefully in Sturt's all important encounter with the Magpies this week!

At his season average (of about 5 per game) he would do it in the first round of the finals. With games against Port, with a likely matchup of Ah Chee and Port playing better than a month ago, a dogs line up which will be firing and a Sibenaler matchup, Glenelg against probably Sherwood with Glenelg playing for a possible finals berth and then North perhaps looking for second or a double chance (depending on results and how the Eagles go over the next month) he will come up against some of the league's best defenders and best teams all firing. I hope he does it, but with at least 6 games left will be needing 3 a game from here on. Finals are tough for full forwards. He'd be short odds but it will still be tough. Makes you realise how good an effort some of the forwards who did it before it was!

Looking unlikely before the end of the minor round IMO. Should do it if we play a couple of finals.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Has 88 after a very impressive 9 today at Alberton.
By the way, we've won twice there this year.

Yeah, he'll make it now, not sure if I want him to do it before the last round or not.

Good luck to him though, it'll be great to see a 100 goal kicker in the SANFL again, I think a few of us were wondering if it would ever happen again, it'll definatley have more prestige if he does it in the minor round.

He derserves to kick the ton in the minor round plus the DB's don't need the distraction of looking for him in a finals game more than necessary to get it.

Surely.. it's only fair now. He's had such an awesome season, not only would it be good for Chambo and Sturt, but good for the competition for another 100+ goalkicker.

I think he might leave us looming for the last quarter in Round 23..

Yes Rudolph was great on Chambers at Adelaide Oval. I recall Chambers got three but certainly got under Brant's skin...
