Bring It On !!!

Postby LPH » Mon Aug 20, 2007 8:56 am

OK Toodle-pips... I was wrong.

There I said it.

Clearly I have OVER ESTIMATED Port Adelaide but...

"12 wins a season doesn't make" 8)

However, I am prepared to 'cop it' from you bandwagon jumpers for a week or so but the double chance is NOT in the bag yet silvertails. Enjoy your laughs but remember, 'he whom laughs last, laughs best", looking forward to September.

You lot are STILL the Eagles bitches

P.S. The response has been made ASAP online at work, as I am not online @ home.

Wedgie... was a pleasure to meet you & RBT in person & share a pint... came looking for you after the match but you were gone. Perhaps in Finals time we can meet again, yeah? North were a bit 'stiff' I thought.

Cheers mate, good to meet you too.
I hung around for a couple of minutes after the game as I was supposed to give someone a lift to town but as my car was parked next to the Eagles clubrooms and the congestion was building I headed off.
Look forward to catching up for an ale next year at Woodville.

I'm certainly not thinking that just because we've won twelve games we pat ourselves on the back and say season over, we've achieved more than we ever wanted to...

I just hope we get the chance to play you hybrids again soon...

Agreed Jimmy, time to shift the goalposts. After seeing the way we have been playing for most of the season, the next aim is to secure a top 3 spot and then hopefully cause some damage in September. Time will tell - it will not be easy. Some good sides running around...

You're most welcome Hooligan.

However, I would never be so supercilious as to point out your educational shortcomings..........when you're doing such a good job of it yourself.

FYI, two points:

1. "Daddy's money" sent me to public school.

2. You play with feathers, your arse gets tickled.

Yes Doggie,

I don't believe that Sturt will beat the Dogs, The Bays @ the Bay will be tough & so will North @ AO but...

Look, no-one can deny (me included) that they have had a great year SO FAR.

I for one, am VERY over this site becoming the Sturt Appreciation Society, when to be quite honest, they haven't yet done much except win 12 games (granted, probably 8 more than anyone expected) but as EAGLES FANS KNOW ALL TOO WELL (& North fans for that matter) FINALS is what this game is about... 20 minor round games only enable you to get there... the game starts from there... time will tell. 8)

As early as ROUND 3  , they were 'spuking' McGowan as "the best coach in the league behind Laird" & quite frankly haven't shut up since.

My point from last week (& continues to be) is for some BALANCED discussion about topics OTHER THAN THEM. I can only hope & pray that they DO in fact go out in straight sets during the finals, as then we can have 2 weeks @ least of not listening or reading their posts.

Am I anti Sturt ??? No not really.
Am I anti Self Indulgent Sturt Supporters ??? I leave you to judge.

LEH, its only one bloke that is hollering this and I think that the majority of Sturt supporters on this site are cringing in front of their computer screens myself included.

Yes we have exceeded expectations of the entire league but as far as I'm concerned its one week at a time from here on in.

I think you'll find the footy public in general have been saying this, I'll certainly put my hand up for that.

Geez LEH, you've got a real chip on your shoulder haven't you...

Quite simply, if you want more Eagles based comment, find some more Eagles supporters to contribute. Like I've said in past posts, most make fair and reasonably balanced comments (you're an obvious exception). As for Sturt supporters coming on this site and patting ourselves on the back, yeah there might be one or two of those but the majority, I reckon, make pretty sensible comments. After the year we've had why wouldn't we be talking the club up? There's certainly nothing to get on here and be negative about. Go find a Hybrids only forum where you can play with yourself and post comments about how you beat Centrals last year. (By the way, have you beaten them this year?)
