Watched "Gone Baby Gone" last night, thought it was excellent ... Great to see Casey Affleck show more personality than a fridge for a change.

SHADOW BOXER!

PLOT WARNING: Yes, in this movie, the young main character, aged about 30, say, is rooting the hell out of Helen Mirren right throughout it. Kinda gross. She's like 70 and looks every year. (shudders)

Saw 5. Caught it today and it actually was decent, a lot better than Saw 4. One of the co-creators of Saw Leigh Whannell has a new horror movie that just came out yesterday called Dying Breed. About a convict that supposedly turned to cannibalism after escaping from prison in Tasmania. There's meant to be a bit about it in the Review section of Saturday's Advertiser.

Death Defying Acts - Staying awake through this snoozefest is a death deying act in itself. It could easily bore you to death.

Monkey Puzzle - A bunch of idiots get lost in the bush. Haven't seen that one before.

Unfinished Sky - Dreary romance until the last twenty minute when it takes off. Would've been a good telemovie.

The Happening: Weird arse concept about an airborne virus that makes people kill themselves but not bad for a gory laugh. Look for the sean where a zoo keeper feeds his arms to a lion! Hhahaha!

Watched Little Shop of Horrors on the weekend - forgot how much I liked it. Steve Martin's greatest role?

Doomsday

More big-budget, apocalyptic, killer virus nonsese.

Shamelessly rips off Mad Max like few other films.

Pathology. Some weird sex scenes and people completely desensitized to gore but again, not a bad flick on the New Release wall.

Managed to get my hands on a copy of "Thursday" the other night, which has long been one of my favourite movies.

For anyone who likes Tarantino style movies see if you can grab yourself a copy as it's an enjoyable watch, stars Thomas Jane and Aaron Eckhart.

Just watched the movie "Vantage Point", which was better than the B-Grade movie I expected it to be ... Good story, good twists and well told, a pretty enjoyable watch.

I reckon I saw that years ago, is that the one with the hard bitch in a real tight get up and high heels? Not bad it's got a bit of a Jackie Brown feel to it. The Doom Generation is another one of those Tarantino type films.

Actually it might be Love And a .45 I was thinking of. The brains!!
