Stannis is no friend of Ned Stark, he says so himself. I'm pretty sure every time he mentions hims he starts the sentence with

"Ned Stark was no friend of mine, but......"

Think you're right - But I reckon the North is kinda up for grabs now at the moment, and Stannis could do with an army so has to start somewhere.

I could be miles off though .. Gonna start reading the books now, can't wait another 10 months once this season is over.

You can save yourself a shitload of reading by having a look at each character's wiki page. Haha.

Loaded with spoilers and you get the gist of things from 15 minutes of reading. Damaging to your enjoyment of the rest of the TV series.

I do sometimes struggle to keep up with some character names and alliances of different families etc. So this can help if you stop reading up to where you've watched. Haha

I will add what he says after

"...only a fool would doubt his honour or his honesty"

"....there must be justice for his murder, Roberts too....." or words to that effect.

So you may not be that far off

Thanks mate, SAFooty has proven a great support network in my time of need.

On Tuesday and Wednesday I felt like knocking tables over and smashing plates and bowls, but it's Beer day today so I've re-surfaced.

Was thinking about heading out tonight, but still haven't conquered my "For the night is dark and full of terrors" phase.

Did the same thing.

Personally I think the shows are much better.

He's still got the hand, so might just have to improvise :D

Was a bit of a disappointing last episode but as you said lays out the groundwork to hit the ground running in Season 4.

I liked the way they caught (the non book readers) off guard by turning the world upside down in the 2nd last episode rather than the finale.
