Had been delaying watching as I really had feared for the worst. I wasn't a fan of the remake of the original. But i did enjoy this one!

I went a saw it Sunday with my old girl, having a high interest in WW2 and not knowing all that much about Churchill I was pretty keen to see it, as was mum. I was the youngest in the cinema by a fair few years and I was telling my mates about it and they had no idea what it was, shows how much my generation knows/cares about WW2 history. Anyway I found it incredibly interesting, from the movies adaption of him, Churchill was a pretty hopeless and flawed man that was not well liked, very much doing his own thing whenever he wanted (mostly sitting in bed/hanging around in the dressing gown drinking and smoking cigars), he was very much a grumpy old fart. But apon becoming Prime Minister the way he inspired the public to fight and give them hope was done very well.mighty_tiger_79 wrote:Darkest Hour

At times it felt like it was a documentary as Oldman played Churchill incredibly well.
But for me the movie finished all too soon. Seemed to go so quick.... i wanted more!!!

That's the one about catholic abuses in Boston, with Michael Keaton, right?
Well summed up, PP. Such a tragic series of events and coverup, but a story that needed to be told.

Neither did I, he really did exceed all expectations and that was the most amazing thing about his time as prime minister.
