Went with the missus to watch I Tonya tonight , well worth a look. Allison Janney does a top job as Tonya Harding's mum.

Had been delaying watching as I really had feared for the worst. I wasn't a fan of the remake of the original. But i did enjoy this one!

I love all the new remakes, I think they did a really good job.

Speaking of Prison movies, just watched Birdman of Alcatraz, the 1962 Burt Lancaster version.
It depicts lifer Robert Stroud and keeps mostly to the facts. Excepting how violent Stroud really was.
In the film his eventual wife Della Rae Jones said she came from Shelbyville. Stroud died in prison in Springfield

I went a saw it Sunday with my old girl, having a high interest in WW2 and not knowing all that much about Churchill I was pretty keen to see it, as was mum. I was the youngest in the cinema by a fair few years and I was telling my mates about it and they had no idea what it was, shows how much my generation knows/cares about WW2 history. Anyway I found it incredibly interesting, from the movies adaption of him, Churchill was a pretty hopeless and flawed man that was not well liked, very much doing his own thing whenever he wanted (mostly sitting in bed/hanging around in the dressing gown drinking and smoking cigars), he was very much a grumpy old fart. But apon becoming Prime Minister the way he inspired the public to fight and give them hope was done very well.

I did some further reading and there is a few historical inaccuracies in the film but that's to be expected these days. Even though there is no real connection between the two films, the focus on Dunkirk in Darkest hour gave them a bit of a connection for me and gave you a view from home of the guys who stood on that beach waiting go be rescued.

A different WW2 history film but a very good one from a different point of view.

Being a Marvel fan, I'm off to see Black Panther tomorrow night.

I didnt realise that they put Churchill in charge to be the fall guy....
At times it felt like it was a documentary as Oldman played Churchill incredibly well.

But for me the movie finished all too soon. Seemed to go so quick.... i wanted more!!!

Neither did I, he really did exceed all expectations and that was the most amazing thing about his time as prime minister.

That's the one about catholic abuses in Boston, with Michael Keaton, right?

Well summed up, PP. Such a tragic series of events and coverup, but a story that needed to be told.

Winchester

Not sure if I've mentioned before, but these sorts of movies don't really interest me.

Having said that, I've previously read a little bit about Sarah Winchester and her house, so didn't mind taking Mrs HH3 to see this.

The story's actually pretty good, and it would've held up even without the jump scares every few minutes.

Mrs HH3 didn't like it, but what would she know. ;)

Also, it was filmed in Australia. When "Screen Australia, Government of QLD, and Government of Vic" came up at the start, we thought we were in the wrong movie.

7.5/10

I've seen Red Sparrow the other day. I wouldn't recommend going to the theatre to see this movie, but it's certainly watchable. This is more of a Netflix type situation, or what ever service you use to watch your movies.

Watched the movie on the plane and despite having difficulties with the movie stopping and starting it was very enjoyable to watch. Agree it felt a bit like a doco at times and makes you wonder where the truth lies. Recommend.
