The Gruen Transfer

by Magpiespower » Thu May 29, 2008 1:18 pm

Bold programming from the ABC.

A panel show hosted by Wil Anderson with an annoying laugh track to fill the dead air from limp one-liners.

I fell asleep...

Though the panal was OK, Will Anderson is an annoying nob...

Only watched it as it was after Spicks & Specks which is an absolute belter, with a genuinely funny man hosting it...

Anderson was the low point for that show.

some of the ideas put forward by the panel were out of the square and might upset a few people could not believe that the legal department let through some of the things that were said

I thought that the insiders view to the industry was very interesting, yes Wil is annoying when he laughs at every joke he cracks, but at least he is entertaining someone!

I will probably give it another look, the segment where they had to sell whale meat was clever.

I was eagerly looking forward to it. too many limp gags and not enough interesting thoughts and analysis (See "good news week")- Anderson is a tool.
Agree spicks and specks is quality. Amanda Pellman annoyed the hell out of me last night but i reckon ryan shelton is funny as F%ck

Yeah, though he was a bit of a tosser on Rove, but he cracked me up last night a few times...

They need to stretch it out (S & S) to an hour as the comedians they have are usually as funny as f#@k,
and should be given more rope to perform as should Hilly !

I will watch the Gruen thingamebob next week to see if Anderson pulls his head in a bit...

Paul McDermott should host it, he's a funny f@#ker too (Doug Anthony All-Stars :prayer: )

I actually really enjoyed it, all apart from Will Anderson who is an annoying knob who makes lame jokes while doing his leaning forward pose looking straight down the camera barrel. With a new host it would be a very good show.

some of the stuff the panel was talking about was really interesting.........but Will's continual interuptions and lame attempts at humour spoiled it......

It's just another another of those desperately over-rehearsed-yet-supposedly-spontaneous panel shows like Spicks & Specks & Good News Week that takes a good concept and runs it into the ground with massive ego. Right on.

I agree with you Stumps. Peter Andre is an even bigger tool than I thought if it is true he actually slept with Amanda Pellman

Will Anderson = D@%khead

Show had a few half decents bits, the made up ads for whale meat were good, the rest was a waste of time, eccentric ad nutters dribbling shite to a host trying to look intelligent with his one-liners.

Have loved all the Gruen series so far, Gruen Sweat no exception. Shows just how much Russell Howcroft has NFI about sport though!
