Great news for Triple M breakfast listeners - not sure if he is replacing any of the existing team or being a fourth member.

Funny Home Videos has been running for decades based purely upon this genre of humour.

As an experiment one night, try watching Funniest Home Videos with the sound turned down. It becomes so much worse with the "hilarious" voiceover encouraging people to laugh with the set up of the "gag".

This will be a huge boost for Triple M, which has been absolutely slaughtered in the breakfast ratings this year. The ongoing Kym Dillon legal case would be keeping them nervous financially also.

Anyone know who is replacing Sean Rehn on the Sunday Roast and Josh Carr as special comments for Power games?

Some cardboard cutouts, I believe. Should improve the show.

Don't like Blakey much (egotistical, funny only in patches) but he did give the show a *younger* perspective, such as it was. At times you could audibly hear Keith Conlon thinking he was a twat - now the boomers have free reign it will be interesting to see where it goes.

Looking forward to Mark Aiston and Jane Reilly over the next few weeks - like when McDermott and Wildy take over the sports show during summer, they're actually half decent to listen to

I’m surprised that they managed to find 10 minutes a day for him given the amount of ads that station runs. 5 double Advertisement.

Interesting. I reckon his sense of humour is suited to the over 50's set. So it'll be interesting to see if he changes his style or he continues with it and then if he does, if that works with the MMM set.

Oh, by the way, I think it also smacks of someone who doesn't know when they've got it good!

Good point!

I reckon 10 minutes work per day is a deal I could get used to!

yeah 10 mins of on air time, but how much time spent putting together the calls and the musical satires behind the scenes.

i had thought that he deserved more air time

Will make a difference to next years ratings I reckon.
Conlon's a huge pain in the butt, and the new bloke (John I think) is as boring as watching paint dry.

5AA will miss the proceeds they usually get from Jon Blake's Behind Closed Doors CD too. It was a favorite Chistmas gift in my family.

There are some points where Blake's humour is genuinely cringe worthy, others where I laugh out loud. I know that Pilko absolutely couldn't stand the guy.

Remember when Mahama Cote went to MMM from AA? I reckon Blake will have a big profile for about 12 -18 months and then fade away.

Agreed about Aiston and Reilly. I don't normally listen to breakfast radio but last year I started listening to them regularly, was somewhat refreshing.
