I finally got around to watching this last night and to be honest I'm not quite sure what to make of it.I thought it was supposed to be a "prequel" of sorts.

I'd say it's a pretty loose prequel, or retelling, if anything.

For instance, In Prisoner:
- Doreen wasn't indigenous, nor did she have a child.
- Meg Jackson wasn't killed off in the first episode, nor was she the Governor. In fact, in the original, it was her husband who was killed in a prison riot by Chrissie Latham.
- Liz Birdsworth wasn't a 'prison welfare' person.
- Franky Doyle wasn't easy on the eye.

I like how there are certain things I can connect to the original, but that there are also new things for me to find in this series.

I found the whole drug bit and Beas daughter really disturbing to be honest, maybe its the dad of a daughter in me but I keep seeing her trusting Jacs son and him doing a number on her and just walking out, the kid is supposed to be 15 years old! Show is definately full on, is only going to get more intense from here I feel!

It's definitely grittier than Prisoner, that's for sure. Both shows are good, in different ways.

Best show on TV by a mile.

Agree with the comments on Bea's daughter too, very confronting

Interesting last episode

Thought the scene where Jacs copped it looked pretty amateurish visually, but still good to see Bea finally go off. Looks as though she'll go head to head with Frankie next season
