Hope you’re right mate. Just seems weird treatment of fans to provide 7/8ths of the story. If it were financially viable to run a final season it’s hard to understand why they wouldn’t

I think the bloke who plays Ray is the exec producer, perhaps just had enough.

Great call Jimmy, started it the other night. Yellowstone aint bad either, a bit cliche and Dallas like at times but enough blokiness to keep me entertained.

Speaking of SBS and it's catch-up service, had a look at the latest Franco-Anglo do-over of HG Well's 'War of the Worlds.'

So far, it seems to take a novel interpretation of the original story (as compared to the 2005 Tom Cruise version), and focuses more on the 'earth under the martians' rather than their arrival and conquest (I don't think they're 'martians' by definition, though). Definitely worth a look if you're a fan, I'm really keen for the next episode to drop.

me, I thought it was great - it does give you a warning at the beginning that it's fictional history but some of the bad stuff really happened.

Knowing what the Government is capable of hiding, I'm wouldn't be at all surprised if most of that stuff did actually happen

Bit hard to form an opinion yet ... all was building up to the "attack", such as it was, with only the barest character development. Presumably the drama will revolve around the bonding of the survivors from this point. It feels like it's going to be a bit like a John Wyndham novel in that regard (think Day Of The Triffids, and the Kraken Wakes), more of a human drama in which the invasion/catastrophe is incidental.

I'll watch another episode before i commit to going the distance.

Yes, still going, although my experience was muddled 'coz I accidentally saw episodes 2 and 3 out of order. Damned new-fangled streaming services...

The end of episode 4 was a nice cliffhanger; It smells to me like Cylons capturing human females on Caprica ... I want to see what that's all about, and why specific young humans can hear the alien signal.

Conversely I thought the whole French brother-sister issue thing was unneccessary. I want less soap opera unless it involves alien cyborgs, please.

It grated with me when the scientist lass claimed the aliens stopped transmitting because they sensed her scanning them ... geolocation of a signal with a sensor array is a passive operation; there should be no emission for the aliens to detect.

I get the sense something has to happen soon ... I'll be watching again.

watched the espn 30 for 30 doco about Hillsborough... Didn't no much about it but this was an excellent doco about a tragic event. 2 things that shocked me, 1 why the hell was a FA cup semi final played there (i know it was the best location for a neutral ground) but surely there was better options. 2 the cover up and the treatment of the victims families by official and media was truly disgusting
