Celebrity Casualties

Postby JK » Mon Feb 03, 2014 1:21 pm

Rather than start a new topic every time someone keels over, maybe just the one would do.

Always sad when someone departs before it had to be their time, with Phillip Seymour Hoffman the latest casualty.

The bloke was a ripping actor, and he got to do the simulated biz with Marisa Tomei, so he was a lucky one too, for a time.

may have been a decent actor, but i have zero sympathy for actors that overdose themselves on heroin. especially when there is an outpouring of "grief" in the media, whilst noone bats an eyelid when a few hundred people die in a boat off of our shores.

Found dead with a needle in his arm.
Didn't turn up to pick up his kids.

What a cockhead. Good actor, who cares.

That's fair enough, I'm not about to buy into the debate of whether sympathy is warranted, that's a personal call.

"They're not literally his children. They're the Little Lebowski Urban Achievers - inner city children of promise but without the necessary means for a - necessary means for a higher education. So Mr Lebowski is committed to sending all of them to college."

A great actor, Gone too soon.
As for the way he died I've seen too many heroin overdoses to make a judgement call on that one.

i think everyone deserves sympathy, even heroin junkies, but there is, in my opinion, a disproportionate amount of sympathy given to people like hollywood actors, as opposed to other people, who should perhaps be highlighted in the media more

Tragic loss. Fantastic actor. I remember the first role I really took notice of him, Happiness, in which he played a pedophile who masturbated a lot. Was also brilliant in Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. Very under rated film.

p. s. Plenty of boat people threads.

a very selfish way to go... My sympathy and compassion goes to his kids and his wife! Very sad, that they will remember him this way.

Terrific actor, yes... He's a millionaire who can get the best treatment in the world...

Great actor not the ideal way to check out but each to their own... but if we can make reference to the boat people, duromine use, the sacking of chuck and AFL reserves sides in this thread that would be great.
