If it is the one I think you are listening to BC (Casefiles), then they are awesome. I have listened to the ones I am familiar with (Snowtown, Port Arthur, Alcatraz, Walsh St, Anita Cobby, Daniel Morcombe)

The 3 part series on Jonestown, and the 5 part series on the East Area Rapist have been mentioned multiple times on Bigfooty as ones to listen to. I'll be getting onto them shortly.

I love casefile. The presenter isn’t the best but the content is first rate. I listen to it on 1.5 speed so he speaks a bit quicker :)

Yeah he's not the best speaker to listen to but as you said, the content is good. I'll give the East Area Rapist a go next I reckon.

There are quite a few that have actual audio from interviews etc.

The daniel morcombe one is like that.

There’s another one from a while ago where they have audio from an exorcism and it’s insane

Yep, there are extracts of police interviews with Martin Bryant in the Port Arthur episode. I had heard them all previously when Seven aired a special on Port Arthur a couple of years ago. Still, pretty chilling.

I've been listening to Small Town Murders and Crimes in Sport.

Two podcasts by the same two guys. They're comedians, so its funny, but the research is first rate. The Crimes in Sport episode on baseballer Melvin Hall Jr is hilarious. I nearly crashed on Pt Wakefield Road last night because I couldn't see through the tears.

Inside the Big Day Out - A Double J production, if you ever went to a Big Day Out, do yourself a favour and listen to this 6 part series.

History Hyenas is so good.

If you are offended easily, don't even give it a go, because they're off the rails.

Yep he is very good interviewer, the Sam Willoughby one is outstanding.

Some others I listen to regularly -

Inside the Ropes (Golf)
Business of betting
Better than Yesterday
The J Files
Little Bridie (when are they coming back?)
Inside the Big Day Out (outstanding if you attended)
Sacked
Ordineroli Speaking
The Sounding Board

Along with 5AA, SEN daily programs if they interest me.

Flying home from Bali last year listening to the episode about Jessica Michalik passing away at the Sydney BDO had me in tears. Mrs Boon thought I was having a panic attack on the plane, was just feeling it, relating to what her friend and Dad must have been through.

Yep, was really enjoying it but knew my mood would change dramatically when they got to that bit.

How about the 1st BDO when they had 10,000 wanting to get in to watch Nirvana at the Horden Pavilion when it only holds 6,000. Said they closed their eyes and hoped for the best

Imagine being in there, front and centre and having that memory. Certainly different times.

Thanks for the recommendation- was a great listen/insight. Episode 3 was obviously a tough one though.

Certainly made me sentimental for the days of going to festivals (and gigs for that matter), really missing live music currently.

Made a nice change of pace from the Casefiles I've been working through lately (mostly Adelaide/Aussie ones at this stage, with the exception of Jonestown). I actually don't mind the host's robotic/monotone style, find it easy to follow and stay engaged with. Excellent podcasts overall though.

I listened to one recently about Paul Dale (corrupt cop during Melbourne gangland wars). He sounds so innocent but I reckon he's a bloody good liar. He definitely has the gift of the gab. Was interesting though.

Just Lawful
based on the crimes here in SA, co-hosted by Sean Fewster, the crime reporter for the Advertiser.
does a good job in explaining it for the non legal minds.
but nearly every case just makes you shake your head at the system.

My lad has started up a weekly podcast.

2 Blokes and a Pom.

They are just having a bit of fun with it, but have built a small listener base in just 10 episodes.

They cover a good range of sports topics, with a healthy dose of taking the PI55…

Give it a listen if your keen.
