Fringe 2017

Postby Footy Chick » Wed Feb 01, 2017 7:11 pm

It's snuck up on us again, Fringe starts in about 3 weeks time.

I've already locked in:

Late night letters and Numbers and Yianni Agisilaou: The Simpsons Taught Me Everything I Know

Wouldn't mind going to Timmy Ginevers show too.

Has anyone else got specific shows in their sights?

Best of the Ed festival was on my list, went last year and it was fantastic.

the girls were on about the different Escape Rooms that are on???

Hit the Garden on Friday night.
Saw a Scotsman magic show, which was quite good.
He studied science before taking on the magician career.

A few hiccups, but it was the first show.

Then saw the best of Ed.
Which was quite good and well worth it as per normal.

My missus loves Dave Hughes so I got her tickets to that. I'm more into seeing acts I wouldn't normally see here or on tv though.
Will probably go see Abandoman again though, he's always the highlight of my Fringe and I've been known to go to several of his shows as no two shows are the same.

I saw him about 3 years ago and he was easily the worst Fringe Act Ive ever seen, hardly got a snicker out of the crowd. Never again.

I really should get along to this.
Yianni is an absolute legend and has done really well out of comedy after starting in law.
I can recommend seeing anything he does. Always funny.

Apologies for enjoying witty and intelligent comedy. Uttering a few profanities whilst describing some boring life experiences doesnt do it for me, I get that at the pub for free, as you said each to their own. Maybe he had a bad night when I saw him, was the most expensive show I'd seen and was awful aiming at the lowest possible denominators in the crowd of which there weren't many thank christ.

Totally opposite to what I saw. Must say, can't wait to see him again.

Sorry mate, just saw this.

I'm not going this week, a friend got them for the 25th Feb, when the rest of the group of 10 booked for 25th March.

I've been before, it makes for a great night, watch an act and stroll en masse to the next pub, soak up the atmosphere of the Fringe along the way. They give you about 20 minutes to grab a drink at each venue before the act comes on, been two years in a row and had a ripping night. I think.... ;)

I'm possibly going to see him again this wednesday night - a friend and I are thinking of seeing Comedians against Humanity.

Great weekend in the Port. Fringe party on Saturday night, Sunday was "Rockin' the Port" with the British having a rock'n'roll show with pin up girl parade, classic car show ( didn't put mine in it this year ), the Commercial, the Lighthouse and other venues having live music.

Had lunch at the Lighthouse and listened to a chick there, wandered down to the Commercial and a bloke and young chick were playing there, sucked some paleys down in the sun. Perfect Sunday afternoon.
