In a national comp the cats don't travel until round 12, given how important it is to win early games and the Cats win / ratio playing interstate I definitely think the cats have a good draw.........

So Punk you think Geelong have a better run than collingwood. The pies leave victoria 3 times twice to AAMI and once to subi. Rest of there games are at the MCG or Telstra dome. So work out how many home games the pies have, probably beats essendons draw.
Seriously, everyone should get over it. The AFL dictates the draw. Collingwod & Essendon, regardless of ladder position, attract strong crowds. The AFL wants to maximise it's attendances, by having it's main drawcards in Melbourne. I'm sure the number crunchers would be horrified, to have either team playing Kangaroos in Canberra, or the Hawks in Tassie. I'm sure if crowd figures drop, it may affect Sponsorship deals with the AFL (ie crowd attendances is relative to sponsorship exposure etc).
Coll & Ess have also made the Anzac Day game what it is- heatwave or snow, this game sells out, with thousands missing out. It also rates it's socks off- I could imagine a major yawn fest (& terrible ratings failure), if the Crows & Power (or Freo v West Coast) went head to head.
