And what were his teammates and officials doing to diffuse the situation. Surely one of them could have taken Brogan by the arm and pulled him away with a quiet "leave it, the kids a nutter"

I'd say the apt description would be "young adult" i dont think someone who is 19 is really a "kid". He can vote, drink etc, he doesnt need his mum to cross the street..

OK, it was more a figure of speech, the same way I'd refer to any of the kids playing under 17's or 19's at my footy club, you are indeed correct GWW
