Im looking forward to seeing how the Cats go in the finals ... For the best part of 2 years they have been the hunted, and now perhaps not top of the pecking order could play to their advantage

Knew Drummond wouldnt play, as if they even named him. He would've last 5 minutes.

I'm concerned for Brisbane. I think that carrying so many injured players is a very, very risky thing and I think it'll backfire. Thinking about changing my tip to the Blues.

Tipped the Dogs yes, didnt back them though cause of the DOOM factor, thought they could still get over a struggling Cats side but I was proven wrong, I think Eade got out coached more than anything

BUt Carltons fade in the last quarter was classic DOOM, a non resident coming off 2 games there nearly always struggles in the second half

I reckon your DOOM theory has gone stale Dutchy. St Kilda have played week after week at the DOOM and they've kept winning. The Bulldogs have also successfully backed up from DOOM trips as well. Here's my take on the the two finals.

Cats v Dogs

Cats jumped the Doggies at the start but then the game tightened up. The Cats hit back after an Akker attack in the third and the last quarter they frustrated the hell out of me as they went 'chip chip woodchip' as the commentator said. I was screaming at the TV...get it forward! One more and they are ours! I found that last quarter to be frustrating in the extreme. It was like we weren't backing ourselves.

Then after the game Bomber explained the method behind what I thought was madness. He mentioned how the Bullies like to generate a lot of drive from the halfback line and to bomb it in to Otto/Hawk/Mooney would have been a mistake. So what they were doing was keeping the ball out of that area. I thought that we started playing that way a little too early in the last quarter but we got the result in the end.

Lions v Blues

The Blues were all over the Lions and led comfortably in the last. The Blues kept attacking and this eventually provided the Lions with enough opportunities to go on and win the game. Looking over the two matches it appeared to me that Geelong showed the benefit of finals experience and that the Blues lost a game they should have won through a lack of poise and experience. No DOOM factor there IMO.
