With respect to helping niggly injuries. surely that can help all sides not just those outside the top 4?

In a top 8 finals its only a double chance for the 1st week

They all have a chance. But finish top 4 you should get the greater advantage.

Its very much a part of the same issue. Geelongs ONE advantage was they got a week off after the first week of the finals if they won. That is now a disadvantage as they get 2 out of 3 weeks off which is too much.
The pre finals bye eliminates the ONLY advantage Geelong got in finishing near the top.

You're arguing a different issue though aren't ya? I thought the bit above was about not getting SS for a home final?
