Got to have an eye on the future- there is plenty of youth on that list- surely 2 or 3 of those will require a big pay rise at the next deal.

Well they did say that Brisbane have got approx $250-300k per year more to offer than Port.

Hinkley posed the statement- if his decision is based on finances, then Port are not the club for him. If he makes the decision for football- then we are.

Why does everyone thinks its a 2 horse race?
Was rumoured that GWS are offering up pick 3 for him and similar dollars to Brisbane.
Also Sydney are the side in most need for a ruck, will they enter the field once the Grand Final is done and dusted. Would have cap space if Goodes, Malcheski and Mitchell go?
Brisbane's approach seems bizarre, obviously dont rate him enough to trade a first rounder but rate him enough to pay him $800k+

I think GWS are a chance but less likely than the other options.

Bris - the lure of family and possible big dollars
Port - the lure of (potential) success
Syd - the lure of either or both $$ and premiership contention

Actually had a message from a mate tonight saying he has it on very good authority he'll re-sign with Essendon, but it's hard to see that happening.

Brisbane's approach makes more sense than say Carlton getting Thomas. Carlton gave up pick 12 (Carlton's first pick) I think it was for Thomas and paid him a motza (ie, put all our eggs in one basket). Brisbane are saying they need more than 1 player (ie, keep pick 4) but are happy to pay overs for someone with pick 22. Makes sense to me to try and do it.

Yeah hate to say it mate, but Carlton have paid overs on multiple fronts for Daisy when there was such a big query about what levels he'd ever be able to reach with serious injury.

GWS have one ace in their pack and that is Sheedy who Paddy considers a father figure and regularly calls him.
I agree though if he wants success then he should choose Port.
I do hold onto some miracle that he stays with us but we cant match what Brisbane are offering

yep not liking the pies chances over the next few years. too many younguns, that look ok, but not up to the responsibility yet.

ryder is an interesting one. seem to be the perfect fit for port - play permanent forward and give lobbe the chop out, play the tippett role. that is their one glaring weakness and would turn them into a genuine premiership threat assuming improvement in wingard and wines.

brisbane also look big improvers if they can get beams and/or ryder. once again ryder would play predominantly forward at brisbane too imo, and beams would add that genuine class to their mids.

looks like being a huge off season

Carlton gave up nothing for daisy. They got him via free agency.
Technically the only they gave up is the compensation pick that they would of got for Eddie betts

That's right, pick 11 or 12.

Brisbane will get Beams on big big money.

Port and GWS contesting for Ryder. Cant see Brisbane getting both.

Shaun Higgins looking more and more likely to be leaving the Bulldogs with the Kangaroos in the box seat.

The Suns could make a play for Beams, imagine him and Ablett in the midfield. Beams has only said he wants to go back to Queensland not that he wants to get traded to Brisbane, he’s from the Gold Coast too.

Brisbane have more cap space, a higher first round draft pick, his brother plays for them and they have been into him for quite a while and they certainly were not "surprised" when he announced he wanted a trade home.
