It isn't, but what he is expected to be paid in his new contract it's pretty far off what he needs to be kicking.

Might of. He played 15 games and kicked 34 goals, 15 of those came from 3 games, which means he only kicked 19 goals in the other 12.

Butcher would need a 1,000 shots to kick 50.

Schulz kicked 27 goals in 5 games. That means he kicked 27 in his other 17 games.

What's your point?

Well Schulz isn't about to get a contract like Walker. If the crows are prepared to throw that amount of money at someone who hasn't proved he's worth it then good on them. Have fun trying to recruit anyone in the next 5 years if your going to spend all you money on 3 players.

Isn't the rumour Port are going to throw a heap of money at Walker.

A rumour that port came out and said wasn't true. Why, because Walker isn't worth $1.3million

It was started by David King who is doing his best to be Mark Stevens 2.0. Then Rucci jumped on it as well. Seriously at 1.3mil you might as well be chasing Cameron or go after players like Pendlebury.

The amount of money footballers are paid makes me think all teams budgets should be reduced to 10% of their present levels... ;)

Why? So the afl, the clubs, and the tv stations can earn all of the money?

At present they earn about 25% of the total revenue generated by the game, which seems fine to me.

Personally I think doctors earn a ridiculous amount of money, and play on the fears of people about their health to charge exorbitant fees.

When there's insufficient funds to properly develop the game, the players are overpaid.

25% is on par with American sports (last I looked at least). They don't have game development responsibilities that the AFL does, which means to me they're overpaid.

Meh I think it's about right at the moment. I'm certainly not advocating a major increase either but they are entitled to earn their fair share for entertaining me.

I just think we overvalue entertainers of various sorts and should pay those working in pure scientific research and teaching science better.

As far as doctors go, I'm actually grossing more per day doing locum work in semi-rural public hospitals than I ever grossed in private practice - about double in fact - and without the $90 an hour cost of keeping my own office open... 8)

My last full year in private practice I took home $80K.
Admittedly I was only working a 37 hour week then because of my wife's poor health.
