Ellis Yolman gets his chance for Thompson. Has been in good form and deserves a chance.

The Crowbots have some good depth at the minute

Helps that we have only used 27 players before this round.

CEY would be the 27th player at most clubs, but also at most clubs that would mean playing half a season.

Hope O'Brien goes well too

Geelong 32 (Selwood, Thurlow)
Adelaide 27 (CEY, Grigg, O'Brien, Wigg, Gore, Otten, Shaw, Hampton, Menzel) LOTS OF DEPTH LEFT
WC 35
WB 37 (Hrovat)
North 34 (Tippett, Black)
Port 34 (Frampton, Coloquhan)
Saints 33 (Shenton, Longer, Freeman)
Melbourne 36 (Terlich, Weidemann, Spencer, Kennedy-Harris)
Collingwood 38 (Elliot)

If you get to AO early tomorrow night the curtain raiser is the Primary Schools Premiers Cup, my lad and a lot of the kids I coach are playing for Flagstaff Hill PS v Fulham North PS, to say the boys are pumped is an understatement!

As a Brisbane supporter I'd consider this game the main event!

Keep an eye on the lads, might be some worth asking to play two games in one night.

Well this game went to script.
Backs absolutely dominated the Brisbane kids in the air and the age and experience difference was glaring all over the ground.
Seedsman done a hip? Thought CEY brought his SANFL form in at least when forward so def gives options if Seef doesn't come up.
Still gotta squeeze McGovern back in but i think the forward line works better with only one of Tex or McGovern.
Going to be some tough calls on selection coming up

Reckon it's time we made the call on thommo at the end of the year. Has been a great servant of the club, but if he goes on next year he will be hindering the development of someone like CEY. Wouldn't surprise me if he looks elsewhere if thommo goes on

You want to pick an inferior player to avoid hindering their development? If he's good enough he'll get into the best 22. If not, then we must have a pretty solid side. Really weird thinking given we're in the hunt this year and every reason to think we'll be there next year too.

Swans were keen on him last year... Being wasted at the crows

Will swap him for either Hannebery, Mitchell, Kennedy, Heeney, Parker or Kieren Jack. Seems a fair trade to me. :D

No one on your list would even equal a fair trade with one of those blokes. Maybe Sloan, even than it wouldn't be a fair trade :)

I don't think he's inferior at the present time.

Maybe it's just that we have had an insanely good run with injuries. And in any normal season he would have played at least 10 games

You don't get rid of Thompson to get CEY into the side, you get rid of Thompson because he's not going to be in your best 22 next year. As with Van Berlo and Otten.
