Thompson in is a step backwards, can't be seen as anything but.

I cant see your reasoning for calling a step backwards Boon personally. I know his ability to run defensively you/others question, but as far as winning his own footy, getting it going our way and replacing a kid who plays inside mid @60% game time, I see him as a perfect experienced replacement (exactly why he is on the list).

My issue at selection is Otten over Doedee, I cant see Ottens match up and can see that being exposed rather than Thomo.

He's 34, hasn't played all year despite being up and running some weeks ago and you drop/"manage" a very promising big bodied youngster for him. It was clear he was up against it keeping up with the two way running last year and he hasn't even seen the pace of 2017 footy yet.

Thompson won't offer anymore than Greenwood tonight, Thompson won't be playing next year and if you go into the finals with Thompson in your side it's going backwards. Will Thompson play more than 60% game time tonight?
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

You must have a direct line to the medical/coaching staff at AFC to be so confident he was dropped.

Boon, we are playing this season not next so we will worry about next year during the pre season (remember we are going to get gibbs, Rockliff, Fyfe, etc etc :D )

Managing Greenwood is a must IMO he is only in his second year of AFL football and also transitioning from initially being a HF to a mid. Completely different to say a SPP who has grown a mid tank over years and years of midfield footy as he developed. Hence he has been able to play the first part of the season without a spell. If Greenwood needs a spell (obviously does if the club has made that call), I can only see Gallucci as the other option to bringing Thompson in.

Proof will be in the pudding tonight

*fingers crossed he does the job 8)

Would've kept Greenwood in and left Cameron out for Mackay or Milera personally.

Cold wet soggy night, need the bigger bodies.

Milera is the one for me who i would have given a spell. He did play his best game v Richmond in the wet though so hopefully he can reproduce that.

As mentioned previously Im happy with the Thomo inclusion and hugh having a rest. I dont like the Otten Selection though.

I liken it to Port picking Monfries, it's not the best thing for us right now nor would it be with one eye on the future.

One can assume they haven't got Greenwood ready for AFL footy week in week out then?

Pfft, oval drainage is beautiful. Bad weather will be behind us by the bounce. Might get a light shower or two at best during the game.
