No way, take some people down with us ;)
Still think this is heading to the courts
Had to have a chuckle at a few of the charges though when club/individuals are charged for not doing background checks on Dank.
So when are the Suns and Geelong going to be investigated as they both employed Dank?

Think both of those clubs got rid of him pretty quickly

If I was a player at Essendon and a single drop of any substance legal or not, natural, herbal, mineral or whatever aside from what I had signed a release for was injected into me I'd be suing everyone who had anything to do with this whole mess.
I've reserved judgment up until now but surely Hird, Robinson and Dank in particular are in a world of strife - Thompson and Reid not so much as at least they questionned what was going on.
This is not done with by a long shot!

"If" it is all true Hird should get a life ban from involvment in any football club. Corcoran the same.
Goes without saying that Dank and Robinson should be banned for life but no club would touch them now anyway.

For Reid to know so little shows the real regard he was held by Hird and the club. i.e He was club Doctor by name only and was bypassed quite deliberately by Hird Corcoran Dank and Robinson.
Reid should perhaps be able to just retire and any wrong doing on his behalf should be decided by the medical board.

I have never liked Bomber Thompson but in all reality he appears to have had little involvment and a suspended sentence would be appropriate.

As for the football club no penalty would be sufficient, short of winding the club up.
I don't care about points, fines, draft picks they are not fit to exist. Whatever penalty handed down should be designed so that there is no alternative but too fold or their license to operate is revoked etc etc.
Goodbye Essendon as far as im concerned.
Bring in a team from Tasmania.

I now see why they are so keen to fight it, they are some serious allegations that will result in what i suggest if found guilty. It would only be legal loopholes that save them.
I don't believe the AFL should be offering deals. They have to see it through and remove Essendon and those associated with it from the AFL IMO.

Fascinating statement being read out by Little (Essendon President) at the moment. Goes BANG! This will be fun to watch, neither side giving an inch.

Hopefully it costs Vlad his job. Anything else I couldn't give a figs.

Serious question days- would you share that viewpoint if Hawthorn was at the centre of this saga?

Not having a crack and each to their own as far as opinions are concerned, but imo its awfully rich to recommend scrapping the club. Punish the people in question for sure but punish 50,000 members and quite possibly a number of players when they have done nothing wrong seems a bit rich.

I'd be very surprised if Essendon win this one.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

I think Essendon & Hird need to rollover on this one for the good of the game. I get that they want to fight but what is it achieving?

I think the reason the media and the AFL are after them so hard is partly a reaction to their denials that they did anything wrong.

Essendon are screwed whatever happens. If it all turns to shit, the afl simply don't allow them to participate in the future. Champions become so good by never giving an inch and always demanding perfection even when it is to there personal detriment, which is the position hird finds himself in now.

In fairness how would you feel as an Essendon player! Jesus is be telling the club to get stuffed and be persuing legal options once all complete.... The Bombers are going after the AFL too but the players safety for me is the main thing and seems to be somewhat forgotten past the egos.

Players performance has dropped right off in the last 4 weeks which is pretty damning towards the club....

Thinking ahead if the club de-lists players contracts @ seasons end will players have grounds that the club didn't base a supportive environment for them to succeed. Especially if these players took the shots.....

F&@king hell!
If Essendon are guilty of 50% of what they are charged with, they are in some serious trouble.
Sure hope they have plenty of coin in the bank because the lawsuits will send them broke.
Then what happens...do the AFL bail them out?

I'm shocked and horrified by this and the begrudging respect i had for Hird is well gone.
As for Dank, that prick should be locked up if found guilty!

So who's going to play us on ANZAC day?

Can you think of a more appropriate penalty? Sure those involved can be banned for life.
I have tried to think of something but whatever i come up with doesnt seem enough.
Points for one season would be laughable, Points for 3-5 years is more appropriate but would kill the club anyway.
2 draft picks for 3 years is laughable needs to be more, kills the club anyway
$10m fine, others will pay and is laughable, 50m is more appropriate kills the club anyway.
Throw in all the lawsuits that will come from players and they may as well fold.

I can't see it ending any other way unless as i said they find loopholes, which seems to be Hirds only defence, today he was still going on about AOD, IMO thats the least of their troubles and FFS can we stop hearing about AOD.

Its not about who the club is its about the treatment of players and supposedly the players being unaware of being administered illegal drugs and the blatant cheating that this implies

Personally I think he is screwed and is just looking for a loophole.
From what I read of the charge list there are a heap that are laughable but there are some very serious charges in the report. If some of them are true then all parties involved deserve very lengthy penalties.
This will drag out for a long time yet

Have just spent the last 45 minutes reading the report

FAAAARRRKKKKKIIIINNNNGGGG HHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

They are in so much trouble lawsuits are going to abound from the players there is no way that they can get out of this.

Hird, Corcoran, Robinson & Dank to be banned for life on this one. The only result possible

Reid to retire and Thompson given a lengthy suspension 2/3 years.

Good bye finals, points for next season and draft picks for several years. Huge Fines as well they are WELL AND TRULY STUFFED
