The record of losing players in recent seasons continues.

To me thats the worst thing. Quite a few in the past few years. Couple I can understand but some others......
Tippet - $$$$$ and Mummas boy
Davis - $$$$$
Bock - $$$$$
Gunston - Rich kid Mummas boy
Maric - Left for more opportunity
Knights - Left for more opportunity
Armstrong - Left for more opportunity

If the expansion clubs never came in we would have the first 3 still playing for us!
The club couldnt have done any more to try and keep any of the above.

Which makes it even worse!
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Is it true that Collingwood have offered $1Mil/year for 4 years?

How can they afford that if so? Also what would they have to offer the Crows that is worth them getting a $1Mil/year player? Crows dont have to accept the trade and he will then go into the draft and Gold Coast or Brisbane will get him.

I was Ok with him leaving if he wanted to go back to QLD but to sell himself like this is just wrong. The Crows stood by him with shoulder injuries early and then this year with the concussions, he has been well paid since his last contract and has still yet to repay the club for this.

Pies trading out Wellingham and Dawes and veteran listing four other players has left them with a bit of flexibility.

We could probably blame Tony Abbott for the Tippett departure

If true and it happens he would be Collingwoods highest paid player surely??
He is IMO no way better than Swann, Beams, Pendles and Cloke and the Collingwood faithful would be mighty unforgiving if he performs for them like he has in the past 6 months at that coin. Two power forwards are highly important but giving a guy this much as we did on potential could have bigger implications in the future......OR could be a massive get! :(
I will be interested to see how this pans out over the next few weeks because I cant see the Crows giving him up for nothing but if he goes into the draft could get that also.

I reckon the 1mil/year is an inflated figure.

Maybe, but you would think that it would be close, he is no longer homesick apparently and with endorsements it was reported he would get something near that here.

Well, they are obviously desperate to find a backup ruckman for Jolly that can also make an impact in the forward line, so I'd imagine they throw a fair chunk of coin at him.

What about that Champ Dawes... Collingwood will go to the pack without his contribution, who else will be able to deliver the 2.5 tackles a game he was famed for producing?!?!?

Well if he leaves Adelaide and our $800k offer for less than that in Melbourne it is either a massive slap in the face or he is a retard that doesn't understand how much more expensive it is to live in Melbourne.

Our tackling coaches will get a hold of Tippet to bring him up to par with Dawes' influential contribution.

he was over paid in adelaide at $800k so if he get $1m good luck to him some clubs have more money than they know what to dow
with.

I would move anywhere in the world to be average at my job and get paid $1m

The fact Tippett has not nominated a club would mean that the crows should get the best deal possible from whoever they choose. The GC & GWS have first two picks in draft then its a few low grade Vics clubs. nothing less than first round draft pick & an established player.
IF GC want tippet they will have to give up first pick or hope we can not get deal done from another club & hope GWS dont pick him.

I think his Manager is just playing with Collingwood etc to get the best offer from a Qld club, surely that is where he is headed.

Crows are leaking players, yet apparently it is such a "great environment"...

This year they have signed on contract extensions to Dangerfield, Walker, Sloane, Mackay and Douglas. There is a good environment now. We lost Bock and Davis to expansion clubs. I would have liked to have seen Maric and Gunston stay.
I believe Tippett was always going to go, I think he was holding off to see how far the Crows went in the finals, if he stated his intentions earlier he ran risk of not getting a game, in fact I would say he would have been dropped for the Hawks game after two poor finals.
